“Before the reckoning of days and the weaving of stars, the Wheel turned upon the face of the deep, and by the casting of lots was dominion given to LUMAD, the First Maker, who raised the isles from the abyss and wrought the gods of sky, stone, dream, and sea. Yet the beginning is veiled in mist, and the end lieth beyond the sight of gods and men. As the gods strive and the people of the isles lift their songs, LUMAD resteth crowned upon the Dragon’s Beak, His dreams binding the world. But it is told that at the last turning of the Wheel, the First and the Last shall awaken, unmaking all, and shaping anew the worlds and gods yet to be.”

4. Unto the abyss of boundless waters the wheels of the abyss gave their decree.


5. And the lots did fall upon LUMAD, who stood amid the mists of the endless waters,


and His voice thundered upon the face of the abyss.


6. Then LUMAD raised His hand and spake, saying,


"Behold, I have won the casting of the lots;


Mine is the rule o'er the great seas and the isles that rise from them.


7. By My word shall the isles spring forth from the womb of the waters;


by My breath shall the deeps be stretched wide;


and by Mine hand shall the bounds of the seas be set."


8. And it came to pass, for the isles rose from the waters,


and the seas brought forth yet more isles,


9. Yet who it was that turned the Wheel,


and whether the Wheel doth yet turn beyond the sight of gods or men —


none knoweth, neither in the heavens nor in the depths.
