"I… Don't…" Arthur stammered, the arrogance and confidence from earlier completely gone, replaced by naked fear.
Logan hadn't even broken a sweat. Yet every ally Arthur had brought, every scheme he had carefully prepared, had been destroyed in mere seconds.
Not minutes. Seconds.
Logan slowly raised his right hand. With a sharp hum, Audrey flew into his grasp. His fingers tightened around the sword's hilt as his cold gaze locked onto Arthur. "Don't?" Logan repeated calmly. "Don't tell me you don't miss your family, Arthur."
Arthur was far older than Logan — or at least, older than the Logan of this lifetime. Yet now, Logan addressed him directly by name, without the slightest trace of respect or consideration for his age.
"I… I…" Arthur tried to speak again, but the words refused to come out.
Just standing before Logan felt like being crushed beneath a mountain. His legs finally gave out.
Thud!
