Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: The Shift

The entity's words hung in the air like a promise. The balance of power was shifting, and the outcome was far from certain. I felt a sense of trepidation, as if the very fabric of reality was about to change.

Ethan's grip on my arm tightened, his eyes locked on the entity with a mixture of fear and determination. "What does it mean?" he asked, his voice firm.

The entity's gaze seemed to bore into Ethan's soul, and for a moment, I thought I saw a flicker of recognition. "The shift is coming," it said, its voice low and resonant. "And when it does, the world will be forever changed."

As the entity's words faded away, I felt a strange sensation, as if the air around us was charged with electricity. The room seemed to vibrate with energy, and I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end.

Suddenly, the lights flickered and dimmed, and the room was plunged into darkness. I felt a sense of disorientation, as if I was lost in a world without boundaries.

When the lights flickered back on, the entity was gone. But the room was not the same. The furniture was rearranged, and the windows seemed to offer a view of a different world.

I turned to Ethan, my eyes wide with fear. "What's happening?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Ethan's face was pale, his eyes locked on the windows. "I don't know," he said. "But I think we're not in our world anymore."

As I looked around the room, I realized that Ethan was right. We were not in our world anymore. The shift had occurred, and everything had changed.
