Carter realized that maybe just maybe he never knew himself that well he thought that the feelings he had after loosing his memories that was the real him to him everything he ever felt was what he thought he was like his fear of his grandmothe it ran down he never knew why he feared her like she would take his life any moment but he always did whatever she asked and was closed to her he just had to put on a cold masked even if he felt like trembling in front of her he never showed it he got used to it anyway and moved on even though he felt the pressure he encouraged himself that he was okay until the end. He smiled at the thought that he used to be happy he knew that even if he never remembered atleast there was someone who still had them stored them and treasured them.
"Go to sleep I have as early class any way I can't keep talking because I'm too tired for today let's have some rest for now. " He yawned as he faced the wall again as he asked Auther to make sure that the lights were and drifted to slumber after he was also afraid that Auther might tell him how they were when they were still young he was afraid that maybe they used to love him all he was okay to know is if he had been happy it was better that way and never wanted to crave for love again like before when ge was with his grandmother who cared but never once protected him. He still knows the distain he had for him after all it was written all over her face it was easier to read facial expressions so he did everything for her but he became tired and started living for himself he realized that if someone never lived you they will never love you till the end so he stopped fighting to be loved like his cousins who were given everything by her and was just thankful that she raised me. That was, enough to her that I never disturbed her and she let him do whatever he wanted moreso they rarely crossed paths so it was more peaceful.
He was confused at first after all he was sleeping in his room then he saw those two identical children playing at the playground looking closely he realized that it might be a memory or just his imagination so he watched as they chased each other they were happy but then one of them stopped and hugged the other and they fell down together on the grass the other took the chance to bite the others cheek as if he is used to it.
"Auther can you stop biting my cheeks all the time they are not food and mostly it hurt whenever you bite them all the time can you let them rest." Complained the one with the white hair and furthermore he looked so cute with those chubby cheeks that he himself wanted to pinch them he tried moving towards them but his body stayed rooted at the same spot.
"But I like your cheeks they are so soft and have a nice scent so I'm sure I will always like so stop complaining and let me bite them more. " he made to have another bite but was pushed away mercilessly as the other kid he tried to protect his cheeks and stood up so fast that Carter never noticed his movement at that moment.
"Carter, Ter wait for me you can't leave me here, " the other boy stopped and waited for his brother to finally reach him, they held hands as they walked past him but Carter stopped and stared at the direction he stood he felt his breath caught in his throat.
I feel like someone is watching maybe I should have dyed my hair just as we were told, that I should always dye my hair and wear the lenses. " He was scared for sure as they bolted towards a car not far away.
"Her maybe you are paranoid after all you always say the same thing whenever we are out, sometimes it's always true but most of the time it's like you are imagining things but don't worry I'll protect you no matter what so that nobody could take you away from me so let us promise each other to stay together no matter what after all we have only each other. " he moved his pinky finger towards Carter as if to make the promise last forever.
"I promise we'll always be together and don't worry I'll protect you even if you get married atleast by then you will stop biting my cheeks whenever you got the chance, and don't worry even if I ever forget you I know that I'll protect you and never leave you alone because it will be the two if us until the end. " Carter thought that he and Auther were crazy little ones what normal kids would talk like that he felt like laughing at himself seriously it seemed like they were trouble. They were like two old people planing there future but the two never knew that neither did they see the old driver giving them a smile as they were busy with their own things.
It's almost our fifth birthday what would you like as a gift I promise I'll get it for you well except for biting my cheeks because I can see that look in your face so stop it. "Protested Carter who still had a bite mark on his cheek as he saw the look on Auther's face making his cheeks to feel painful even without it being bitten or pinched and that look of horor at that little demon who made his cheeks his favourite food. He shook his head to get those thoughts out of his head.
" How did you know that I wanted your cheeks after all I tried not to show how happy I was to be given a free check without a condition why did you have to ruin it after all I just wanted to bite your cheeks that would be a better present but I don't need a present now you being by my side is enough for me so never leave or forget about me alright. "Carter nodded to those words they hugged each other like forever until they both fell asleep, they looked so adorable at that moment really and there chubby cheeks were so pinchable to him that he had to refrain from touching them.
They have grown up now and all the fats are gone as well but there faces remained the same which was noticeable he really appreciated the good genes that can not be damaged by time well it's a good thing anyway so he had no complaints. For the first timehe was also happy because atleast he remembered something even if it was just a short memory it seems like being around Auther was a good thing to him so he decided to keep him around for now.
Auther had woken up early and to his horor he had bitten Carter's cheeks in hus sleep well he was used to it anyway when they were kids and some of his old habits retained themselves when he was around Carter which was worrying. He found Charline seated on the sofa she had slept in as if waiting for someone and as soon as she saw him she ran towards him taking his hands and urging him to sit.
Did you guys talk even a little at that, " Auther nodded his head and at that he saw the pure happiness Charline had radiated that made him wonder why she was so happy all over sudden.
"Really you know he never talked to me for a while he was too cold even if he took me around with him , at this point I'm so jealous of you but it's okay let's go and ...., " they both had a knock on the door, "I'll open it you should just sit and relax you are a guest here anyway. " she went directly to open the door as he has the question asked to them making him curious to see who they were.
Why are you guys here aren't you always busy with a lot of work to do all the time, " asked a buffled Charline as she saw the two people at the door.
