Although it was not winter, it was quite cold at night. Luna, who was wearing just a kurti paired with jeans, felt a bit cold. She rubbed her hands together and sometimes wrapped her arms around herself to warm up.
While they were walking, Nikhil noticed this.
After walking for a minute or two, they came across the Department of Theatre and Performance. They went inside. The vibe here was quite different from what she had seen till now. The college was quite old, giving it a majestic, wise and mysterious aura. But this department felt more vibrant and lively.
There were a few classrooms, and posters of famous plays covered the walls of the hallway. They saw an auditorium. Stepping backstage, they found rows of costumes lined up on hangers, a few vanity desks, wigs, and many other props for plays.
They looked around in silence. Then suddenly, Nikhil turned around, holding a shawl in his hand. He broke the silence by saying, "Why would someone keep a shawl here?" Then, without waiting for an answer, he placed it back in its original place and continued looking around.
Luna was already feeling cold. She picked up the shawl and wrapped herself in it.
She no longer felt cold and was relieved to have found it. Under normal circumstances, she would never have worn something that wasn't hers, but she had no other option now—she couldn't spend the night like this.
She continued looking around and saw Nikhil with a small smile on his face. She didn't ask him why. It felt unnecessary. After all, no one likes being questioned by a stranger they just met not long ago.
