Chapter 1 - FTRJ: Chapter 1

This is...? A Flying Fish!

The scorching summer sun hung high in the sky, relentlessly radiating its heat.

Deep within the vast forest, an eleven or twelve-year-old boy slowly dragged a gigantic fish, completely disproportionate to his size.

"Whew, this thing is so heavy! I wonder what it tastes like," he muttered.

Finally, the boy dragged the enormous fish into a cave, tossing it down beside him. Finn wiped the sweat from his brow.

"Is this thing even edible?" A question mark popped into Finn's head as he looked at the gigantic fish.

It was a species he'd never seen before. In fact, he hadn't seen many of the things in this forest before.

That's right, Finn wasn't from this world. A month ago, on his 21st birthday, he'd gotten completely drunk.

He woke up hazy and disoriented, the first thing he saw was a forest of towering trees, so tall he initially thought he was dreaming and went back to sleep.

He only woke up again when something licked his face. Annoyed, he opened his eyes and saw a gaping maw and the wetness on his face. Finn knew then – this wasn't a dream!!!

"Whoa!!!"

"What in the world...?"

Finn jumped, scrambling away to get a better look. It was a creature like a Tyrannosaurus Rex – a monstrous body, jagged teeth, and drool dripping from its jaws. It was all too real. He knew then he'd really transmigrated. As a young man of the modern era, Finn knew what transmigration was.

He just never thought it would happen to him.

But he didn't have time to think about it now. The Tyrannosaurus Rex was already charging towards him. Its massive head was almost as big as Finn himself.

Finn ran, but a normal human body had no chance against such a behemoth. He was quickly caught up with, the giant maw closing in on him.

In this life-or-death situation, Finn didn't care anymore. His adrenaline surged, and his body instinctively reacted, driving him to throw a punch.

In that moment, Finn discovered how incredibly strong he was.

His seemingly ordinary punch landed on the Tyrannosaurus Rex's massive head. This completely disproportionate clash of strength yielded an unexpected result.

Finn's fist struck the Tyrannosaurus Rex's head, and the dinosaur instantly opened its mouth wide. The immense force sent the Tyrannosaurus Rex flying backward.

It crashed into a huge tree trunk, creating a massive crater.

Finn's eyes widened. He'd never imagined he possessed such strength.

The Tyrannosaurus Rex must have weighed over a ton, yet he'd sent it flying with a single punch. Just how powerful was his fist?

After a while, the Tyrannosaurus Rex finally tumbled from the crater in the tree trunk. Finn went to check on it and found the creature, once a fearsome predator, lifeless. Its life had been taken in an instant.

With the danger over, Finn sat down, gazing at the unfamiliar surroundings and lost in thought.

"What the heck is going on?" He raised his right hand, clenching his fist, then suddenly froze. His hand seemed…small.

Finn quickly looked down at his body.

"Why am I so small??"

"Could this be…soul transmigration?" He saw a small river nearby, ran to it, and looked at his reflection in the water.

Though the rushing water created ripples that blurred his reflection, he could still recognize himself.

Finn knew this face. It was his younger self – sharp eyebrows, clear skin, and handsome features. The man who was known for being handsome since childhood!!

With this realization, Finn understood. He'd transmigrated to an unknown world, reverted to his childhood self, and possessed superhuman strength.

His thoughts settled, he looked at the enormous fish. If it weren't for its fish-like appearance, he wouldn't have believed it was a fish.

This thing didn't swim in rivers; it flew in the sky. And it had two enormous wings.

But after a month in this world, he'd seen so many strange things that this didn't surprise him anymore.

The question was, was it edible? And how should he cook it? This was a challenge for Finn.

Finally, Finn tore off a wing and started a fire to prepare some "fin" for a taste test.

He placed some dry kindling on the ground, snapped his fingers, and a roaring fire ignited in the center of the kindling.

This trick was something Finn had figured out himself. After realizing his immense strength, he'd carefully examined his body.

But after much examination, he could only attribute it to the body's inherent strength.

However, Finn also unexpectedly discovered some kind of energy resonating within him, constantly increasing. This discovery excited him.

"Could this be something like spiritual energy? Did I transmigrate to a world of spiritual energy revival?" But Finn was still deep in the forest, and hadn't seen a single person yet.

Naturally, no one could answer his questions.

Finn buried this question in his mind, figuring he'd find out when he eventually left the forest.

He then tried to control this energy. Indeed, it was his own energy, and he could control it.

"Sigh, if only I had some kind of manual or something. Unlike now, I have this energy but can only use it in the most basic ways. Even lighting a fire is difficult."

Finn shook his head, looking at the burning flames.

He hadn't given up on leaving, but the forest was so vast. If it weren't for the marks he'd left along the way, he might not even be able to find his way back.

"Sigh, maybe I'll go out and look around later." After much deliberation, Finn decided he couldn't stay in the forest forever.

Being alone would eventually drive him crazy. Although he was an orphan in his previous life, and had lived alone after leaving the orphanage, working, eating, and sleeping alone, it was still lonely. But at least he was in the modern world, with television, computers, and games to keep him company. But in this world, there were only trees and beasts.

Perhaps only the sun, hanging lonely in the sky each day, understood Finn's loneliness.

"Wow!! What kind of ingredient is this? It's so delicious!" Finn's eyes lit up as he chewed on the "fin," involuntarily exclaiming.

It was true. For the past month, Finn's taste buds had been dulled. Without any seasonings, everything he cooked was bland.

Some creatures' meat was even inedible, but he had to eat it to survive.

But this "fin," despite having no seasoning, was incredibly delicious. Can you imagine the feeling of someone who has only eaten incredibly bland food for days suddenly tasting exquisite food?

Finn felt a long-lost sense of happiness!!

Soon, the grilled food was devoured. Finn wiped the grease from his mouth, still seeming a little unsatisfied.

But his stomach protested, so he knew he couldn't eat any more. He clapped his hands, processed the remaining flying fish, hid it in the cave, and planned to enjoy this exquisite delicacy later.

The setting sun cast its golden rays on the forest, bathing the lush greenery in a golden hue. Finn's shadow stretched long.

But Finn wasn't doing so well. He was clutching his shoulder, his face bruised and swollen, looking quite miserable.

"Damn it, it seems there are still very strong monsters in this forest," Finn muttered as he walked towards his cave, recalling the huge monster he'd encountered in the forest.

It was a creature similar to a tiger from his previous life, but much larger, and could even shoot energy blasts from its mouth.

The blasts were incredibly destructive. If it weren't for his body's adaptation and improved stats over the past month, Finn wouldn't have escaped.

He was covered in injuries, the pain making his mouth twitch.

Finally reaching his cave, Finn collapsed onto his makeshift bed, resting for a while before getting up.

"Fortunately, these are only superficial wounds. If I suffered any serious injuries in this unfamiliar forest, I wouldn't be able to find any medicine to treat them," Finn sighed in relief after checking his injuries.

He was grateful for his incredible physical fitness. With his previous body, he wouldn't have survived the first claw of that tiger.

Let alone fighting the tiger and only sustaining superficial wounds. From his observations, his body's recovery ability was very strong. Injuries of this level would probably heal overnight.

After simply filling his stomach, Finn looked at the darkening sky, went to the cave entrance, and used grass and branches to camouflage it.

After all, this was the wilderness. Camouflaging the cave entrance could deceive some nocturnal predators.

Then Finn went to sleep. But during the night, he got up. Upon closer inspection, his eyes were closed.

But his mouth moved slightly, and he sighed, "Sigh! I'm really weak." Shaking his head, Finn's figure disappeared.

Night passed in the forest amidst the roars of numerous magical beasts.

The first rays of dawn pierced through the trees, bringing silence to the forest that had been filled with the sounds of the hunt.

"Ha~~" Finn opened his eyes, yawned, and slowly got out of bed, checking his body's condition.
