Chapter 5 - Two Month Pregnant

to report what he had discovered about Vani.

"Sir, eight years ago, madam went to that clinic to confirm her pregnancy. At that time, she was two months pregnant. After that, she didn't go back for a check-up even after a month. Back then, the baby was healthy, but there were some complications in her pregnancy. After that day, she never returned to that clinic. The doctor who saw her was also transferred from there. That's all we've found so far. We're still looking into the rest."

As soon as the agent finished speaking, Jai hung up the call. The agent just stared at his phone and muttered to himself,

"What kind of man is this? Why is he always angry? It's not like I ran away with his wife! And who is this madam to him anyway, that he's digging so deep into her past? But anyway, what do I care—I just want my payment."

 He sighed and added,

"This man is seriously dangerous. I better wrap up this job quickly and get rid of him. Otherwise, one day in a fit of rage, he might kill me. And I've no intention of dying anytime soon."

After hearing the agent's words, a joyful smile appeared on Jai's face after many years, but he was also a bit worried after learning about Vani's pregnancy complications.

A little while later, the agent sends Vani's report to Jai. Jai reads the report. It also included Vani's sonography. He reads the report very carefully. After reading it, he breathes a sigh of relief. The report mentioned that Vani's complications were normal and could be resolved by following a good diet.

He couldn't understand much from the sonography at first, but he was looking at it very intently. Then he took out his phone and searched about sonography on Google. After watching a complete video and reading about it, he finally understood — that little shadow in the report was his baby.

After reading the date of Vani's pregnancy, he became certain that the child was his. He trusted Vani so much; he knew she would never abort their baby. If she had wanted to, she would've done it long ago. She wouldn't be going for regular check-ups if that were the case.

Jai was so overjoyed that he wanted to jump up and tell everyone that he was going to be a father. He just kept staring at that report for hours, completely lost in it.

She didn't even hear the knock on her cabin door. Maanav had been knocking for quite some time. But when he got no response, he barged into her cabin angrily. Seeing Jai smiling so much, Maanav was surprised. Jai still didn't seem to be in his senses.

Maanav touched his forehead and said, "You don't have a fever... Did some fuse in your brain blow out?"

"Oh God, what have you done to my friend? Just a while ago, he was roaming around all furious. I should call a doctor. No wait, maybe I should call a mental asylum. What if he bites me and I go crazy too?"

Hearing his nonsense, Jai came back to his senses. He suddenly hugged Maanav tightly. Startled, Maanav screamed, "No, don't bite me!"

Jai glared at him and said, "What nonsense do you keep thinking about? Anyway, forget it—I need to tell you something."

Jai hugged him again and said, "I'm so happy today, Maanav. Even if someone asked for my life right now, I'd gladly give it with a smile."

Manav was listening to him in surprise. He couldn't understand what was wrong with Jai, why he was behaving so weirdly today. Just then, he recalled something Jai had said earlier. He was shocked by it—or maybe sad—but he couldn't quite figure out what he was feeling.

Jai had been burdened with the responsibility of handling his family and business from a very young age. He had never asked for anything for himself, never even complained. He had completely forgotten what it meant to live for himself.

Seeing Jai so happy after learning about his child—it was as if Malog was seeing him truly happy for the first time.

Jai spoke again, pulling Manav out of his thoughts.

"Hey Manav, I'm really happy today. You love my sports car, right? Well, it's yours now. I've gifted it to you."

"After all, I'm feeling the joy of becoming a father for the first time."

He was still wrapped tightly around Manav.

Just then, Manav felt his tears falling on his neck and shoulder.

Manav was stunned just thinking that Jai was crying —

The same man everyone fears so deeply,

The one who can make others cry just with his presence —

Was crying today?
