The one sided beatdown was finally coming to an end… 500,000 kills… Erebus, the Absolute evil… Fearfully, started trying to leave Gekai… He surrounded himself with a thin golden barrier of pure arcanum.
"COWARD!"
A god shouted out, furious at the shit Erebus just pulled.
"What is that barrier, and why does it make me feel weird?"
"That is a god's barrier. Without a god-like power to break it, nothing can harm the one inside. We actually created it specifically to deal with Fenrir…"
"So then, how is Erebus going to pay the final lives he owes us?"
"I don't know…"
"AHAHAHA! Stupid wolf! See how I'll kill you now!"
Whips of dark power extended out with Erebus and his protective shell, each wriggled as if it were alive, and also not at the same time… Undead…
Shurry snarled at the disgusting sight. And charged forward, ramming his head against the barrier. It shook? Then, it's not nearly as powerful down here either? Shurry thought, and leaped back, biting at the dark whips. It has a weakness… Or perhaps a limit? I can't break it in direct conflict but what if I?
"I'm ready, whenever you are."
"It'll be dangerous. Are you sure you want to do it?"
"When is ever safe around you?"
"All the time?"
"Exactly, so what kind of friend would I be if I didn't help in bad times?"
"Then, we'll go with that. It'll use up everything we've gained over the years, but it's worth it. Now that I remember my past, I can make use of everything I know."
"Can you handle him in normal form? It'll be easier to amass this power if I'm not focused on creating serenity within your mind-"
"It's fine, I've got used to this now. I won't lose myself. Just do what you need to, I'll buy the needed time…"
Shurry howled out, a powerful challenge, undeterred by the barrier.
"There's no way! Does he have a way to do it?"
Hathor smiled, she had a feeling that Shurry was about to make a huge scene. Go my son, my puppy, earn another level up. You can do it. Then come back and make your wife a mother already!
Shurry's eyes, then his body… everything glowed, the sounds of howls accompanying this new state. His expression, menacing, to the point…
Erebus felt a warm liquid flow down his leg. There's no way he can get through this barrier… It's perfect!
Shurry dashed, and a streak of howling blue silver, fought against a streak of dark gold. The sounds of whips colliding with the silver only made the howling stronger. A headbutt, then a whip… A chomp, then a few whips…
They rose and fell in the sky dashing left, right, away, and back… The sky was their battle ground.
The attentive ones managed to notice something else happening while they were fighting. The moon, the full, and wonderfully bright moon shined with a magnificence unlike any night the mortals had ever seen.
It was then a god took a look and their mouth fell agape. You can't be serious, that's his power?
The battle continued on with these streaks colliding in a battle of good versus evil, until…
"I'm ready… This… Is… Everything!"
"I'll get him into position in…"
"3…"
"2…"
"1…"
The two counted down to the moment… And…
Erebus found himself floating above the place Shurry had killed the Behemoth and Leviathan. A place far away from anyone who might be harmed. And…
The super sized moon centered above the city flashed a powerful wave at Erebus' back.
He turned around to see the wave, a little worried, but really not that worried.
"Heh, if this was all you had…" He moved in maniacal fashion, his bones seemingly unable to stay in the places they were meant to… "THEN YOU UNDERESTIMATED ME!" He shouted out, as the wave collided with his barrier, he grit his teeth and kept it up. "See, you fool- What the?"
Erebus had looked back at Shurry, only to see that another, mighty wave of comparable strength came right towards him from the other side. And…
The sound of something breaking, and two beams colliding together, forming a circular wall where they met as if balancing each other out. Once the light faded, the moon returned to a normal size, and Luna yawned, smacking her lips, going to sleep within Shurry's soul.
"You did well Luna… I promise I'll get more snacks for you soon!"
Erebus' body started falling from the sky, limp… He'd died just enough times to have paid for all the deaths save for one. Not wanting to lose the kill to something else, Shurry ran forward, transforming back to humanoid form, and grabbed Erebus by the neck.
They both appeared in the central plaza. Erebus was a mess, and Shurry was understandably exhausted. The gods could tell, he was in need of a good, long, rest.
"This is the evil piece of garbage responsible for the deaths of 503,784 of our citizens! And responsible for the deaths of 58,921 Evilus Cultists." Shurry said, pausing to make sure he still looked the part… "I don't give a damn about Evilus, but I figured, would they have turned to that side, if not for this piece of shit's goading, and manipulation? So I have killed him exactly 562,704 times now. One last person left to be avenged."
"What are you waiting for then?"
"I wanted to make a little bit of a show of it. I think I've earned that much at the very least." He cracked his neck.
Shurry released Erebus, and then grabbed him by the ankle and swung him around his head, slamming Erebus' body down so hard, and in a perfect execution that he created a crack running the complete length of south main street.
Erebus coughed up blood, and even more oozed out of every pour of his body upon impact. Though he wasn't dead, not just yet.
Shurry ground his heel directly into Erebus' barely recognizable cheek.
"So much for claiming to be a god. Anyway, by the time I'm done with you, you'll see your next battle, you're gonna need it… Though, I doubt you'll ever see it, with your shitty personality."
Grabbing Erebus by the leg again, he twisted and turned, rapidly increasing his speed, and then launched the bleeding body high up into the air.
"NOW GET THE OUT! AND STAY OUT!"
The practically helpless Erebus, gave up, and… Shurry fired off another mouth beam from his mouth enveloping Erebus entirely, sending him back to Tenkai… Darkness banishing moonlight… And of course… Erebus' golden light was filled with darkness and then he was gone…
Shurry stood there, making sure to be ready just in case there was a hiccup in the plan… And then, he breathed a sigh of relief…
Bokhoir came over, chuckling, he could see just how little Shurry had left, and so he helped him stay standing in a way that most wouldn't ever notice.
"You've grown so much since the first day I saw ya." He laughed with a cheeky grin.
"Seems you've done some growing yourself."
"The fighting is over now… Evilus has failed! ORARIO STILL STANDS!"
Cheers were heard coming from all around the city. They could finally take a breather. It was over, the hell… It was finally, over…
