Chapter 209 - C209 : Reveal Of The Mystery

It was a few moments before any more words were exchanged, as the emotions going around were simply too much to deal with for most everyone, and those who could speak, didn't feel like interrupting the moment. It was Shurry's mother who spoke up first…

"I'm proud of how far you've come."

"He really is something else, ain't he?" Maxim chuckled. "So, what do you think about him now, huh Albert?"

"He's indeed powerful, still quite a ways off from defeating that dragon."

"Yeah, that thing turned me to gas in an effortless attack… Really did a number on my confidence."

Shurry stood again, and finally, able to ask his question… He did so…

"Why didn't you bring me with you? You know what my moon can do… So why?"

"We didn't take you because it wasn't your responsibility to fight it. It was ours."

"But-"

"No, it would only become your responsibility should we fail. We did, and now… The last of our members will be aiding you in that fight."

Maxim's words were clear, and steady. However, it was obvious that Shurry didn't want such an excuse. Empress noticed this and spoke up next…

"Shurry, you haven't been shown what happened, have you?"

"No, I still don't believe that my moon wouldn't have helped."

"Well, I can say this for certain, your moon would have helped us last a little longer, at least that's what we thought before Lord Hades explained more about just how strong that thing really is… It's borderline… a god. So even with your moon. There's no way it would have been enough to change our fates."

Shurry watched as a screen replayed the whole "fight"...

"Is that… Really the whole fight?"

"Yes, we didn't last long at all. I did my best to limit its forces as best as I could." Empress spoke, ticking her tongue, annoyed she couldn't have done more.

"And I did my best to hold the line for Alraj to escape and warn you about the monster's power. Because, if anyone in the world can truly defeat that monstrous thing, it's the alpha." Lyca said, trembling. "My nephew, the spawn of my own long lost sister… I'm glad that we spent so much time together."

Shurry was just standing there, staring at the still frame of the dragon. His hands clenched into fists…

"I'm going to give that thing the worst beating it'll ever have. I will avenge every single one of you… Regardless of your race… Or your age… You were all in my pack…"

It was then that Shurry howled out loud, it shook the immediate area… In doing so, a couple of things happened: First, the figure who he recognized for some reason, smirked. Second, Shurry's repressed memories returned… They came flooding back…

"Shurry, I think it's time. Time for you to learn about everything!"

"About what?"

"The werewolves. A race of people I decided to create. It was on a whim, and one of the many things I did to become a god myself." The figure chuckled. "I am Lycanthro, and I am the one who created the werewolves."

"So that's why you feel familiar?! That makes sense now… So, this power beneath the surface?"

"Long ago there was a rather dangerous mythical beast, as you would probably call it, he was a rather difficult one to deal with. But, with the approval of some powerful gods, The one who lights the moon with his sun, Ra… The one who knows all, Odin… And finally the one above the reincarnation system, Hades… Their approval of my plan really helped. I took this beast's soul, and put small pieces of it, sprinkled throughout my newly created werewolves. Eventually, all pieces had gone through death and rebirth several times. Are you with me so far?"

"I'm following… I think I may even know the name of this mighty beast. And where this might be headed, what I'm unsure of is what this has to do with me exactly?"

"You mean the soul plucked from another world?"

"Yes, I remembered after I howled just now."

"Well, to properly bring these mature pieces of a soul broken apart, there was still something missing. A glue of sorts to hold it together… That's where your soul came in, I swear we got your permission before settling on you, so you did have a choice, but those memories were probably overwritten. For that, I apologize."

"No, no, it's fine, with the exception of what happened when I was 3 years old, my life has been filled with love, and even more food. That said… You should have helped me get these memories back earlier-"

"Are you sure about that?"

"No, that's my musing, I doubt I'd have been able to develop such a strong attachment with the woman I love any other way. I- I truly love her…"

"Ahahaha! That's the spirit! Now then, you'll be heading into the future with the knowledge of who, and what you are. I'll warn you ahead of time, when the soul was split up, he was sealed tight with incredible chains. You might have to break them to truly use this power."

"Will I still be able to sire offspring? I'd hate to not give my wife the puppies she's wanted her whole life."

"Pfft! Of course you can. You're a werewolf now. You won't lose that ability unless you die, or become a god yourself. So go ahead, have as many puppies as you want."

"I will…" Shurry turned to Odin… Then to Hades, and then to Ra. He noticed their positions, and smirked. "Alright, I'm done here. It's high time I go kick his ass some more. Keep cheering me on from here, Aunties, Uncles, Mother, Big brother…"

"Wait another moment, if you would…"

"Hmm?"

"What is it, Albert, the legendary hero? And father of Ais."

"You know?"

"Even if I didn't, this thing has only ever been fooled once…"

Shurry pointed to his nose, and everyone looked at Alraj, then had a good chuckle.

"Must be great… I wanted to ask you, train my daughter so she grows up as strong as she can possibly be… Have her aid in the fight to free her mother from the dragon."

"Hmm… I can't make any promises to handle it right now. But rest assured that, despite my unsettled fury for Freya, and Loki familia… I will spare those who were not a part of killing my big brother. The others… committed an affront I can not allow to go unanswered for. However, I have a plan for this… I'm going to use them wisely as a resource. Alraj, watch your son closely…"

Shurry walked away, to a very particular spot, it called to him.

"One more thing Shurry, the child Ardee had in her womb, the soul I had allotted for it, had not yet been given, so, this'll be your first child. It's the best I can do with the circumstances. I hope this comforts you, even if only a little."

Shurry smiled.

"You've given me a better reason to fight now… Instead of revenge for their loss, I can fight for the hope to see them. Thanks Grandpa."

"Now go on, and get! I'm waiting patiently to shove a ray down his vile throat." Ra demanded.

Shurry smirked.

"Don't worry, you can ask Lord Odin, he knows exactly what I'm about to do…"

Shurry's soul vanished from Tenkai…
