Chapter 119 - C119 : The 3 Great Quests! (2)

The next day, while he was sitting at the main hall's table, playing games with his friends. An every other week occurrence at this point… Both Ardee, and Neze seemingly have their own battle to see who's going to sit closer to Shurry… A few visitors came by the Hathor familia for Shurry. They had a few requests… The tall dwarf spoke first.

"Hey there little man, you've grown quite a bit in these 4 years."

"Uncle Leon!" Shurry cheered, turning his head to the door, then tilted his head immediately upon noticing that something was off. One of his ears fell while the other stood, then they swapped. "What happened to you? You're like 5 hits away from being a zombie?"

"Huh? Uh… A lot happened, I was sorta run ragged for the last couple years."

"Well, here!" Shurry said, and the moon light he'd used to heal so many others by now, completely reversed Leon's situation. "That'll make you feel better!" And then went back to playing familia chess, and put four different games into check, making Alise, and the others groan, and complain.

"How! I played so well!" Noin complained, in an exaggeratedly girlish voice… Odd since she was a girl…

"Don't worry too much Noin. At least you didn't have so much on the line." Iska complained, holding her chin in her hand, elbow on the table, and she sighed heavily. "I can't beat him in a fight, so this is my only way to get him to promise me!"

"Stop acting so uppity for a partner already. Control yourself." Celty, the lone elf in the familia, said, attempting to berate her friend.

"Oh stop it, every part of me wants it. It's baked into every Amazoness."

Meanwhile Leon is just standing there, shocked at how much better he felt. And one more thing… He's managed to make friends with an Amazoness, around his age. Wow. He really has grown quite a bit.

Alfia, growing impatient, walked over and gave Shurry a light chop on the head… "Little brother, Hera ordered my sister and I to come here."

"Why? You should be fine for like a year now. Maybe…" His voice trailed off.

"We're going on an expedition, a serious one. You can't come this time. And I don't want to be weakened like that again."

"Fine, I'll give it a boost."

"No! 4 years ago, you said you could cure it! Do that!"

Alfia shook Shurry out of frustration. She had long ago started exhibiting signs of a brother complex… Though she never quite bothered to get involved with it due to age, and a couple other factors.

"Alfia, calm down. Little brother can't help us with you shaking him like that. It took him a week to recover from giving us a year of illness suppression. All because of this…" Meteria rubbed her large belly.

"Humph! I should beat that Alraj up myself for doing something so dangerous!"

"Shurry, I know it's a bit of trouble for you, but could you try to do that full cure?"

"Uhm… That was Luna who said that. I'm not sure she's strong enough to do it yet. But I can ask."

Luna appeared, she was just large enough now, to comfortably sit on Shurry's shoulders. "Hey Shurry! I finally finished eating all of that crystal up."

"Is- Is it possible to cure them now?"

"Cure them? Oh! You'd need me to do it. I thought it was weird you weren't doing it yet. But yeah let's go ahead and cure them."

Luna began glowing with an extreme amount of power, the glow pulled from her into places just above Shurry's palms. After a short period of time, the draining sensation finished, Luna shrank a little in size, and a slight change in her luminosity. The two balls of moon light began to change shape, and form, sprouting tiny wings and turning into tiny little fairies themselves.

"OH MY GOSH THEY'RE SO CUTE!" Celty's responses was immediate.

Shurry ignored the screams, and smiled down at the two newborn fairies. "Good morning."

"Hi! You're a big friend!"

"Hi! I like your ears! They're cute!"

"Can you two do something for me?"

""Of course!""

"My sisters are sick, an illness I- I can't cure on my own. No matter how hard I tried!" Shurry started crying. "Can you help them? Keep fighting back against the terrible illness that plagues them?"

The fairies, being simple minded, started crying too. Though they could sense that the tears were genuine. Then they looked at the two 16 year olds, each staring back with amazement and awe. Finally the fairies floated up and made a declaration.

""We'll protect these girls from anything! Even at the cost of our lives!""

The two then flew into the twins… A soothing light enveloped the two…

"It feels so good!" Meteria exclaimed, then came to her senses the moment the floor beneath her got wet. "Oh my, the baby's coming!"

Alise stood up. "Alright girls! Operation help big sis Meteria deliver her baby is in order!"

""Yeah!""

Alfia, had a similar feeling of warmth, overwhelmed her… "Shurry, is this what you feel like all the time?"

"I don't know? What does it feel like?"

"Peace."

"Then no."

Shurry left, going to the garden and picked a few of Meteria's favorite fruits to bring back to the room.

Alfia stood there confused. Leon chuckled. "Don't worry about it Alfia. Everyone has their own reasons for their thoughts."

"But then, what does he feel?"

"The need to hunt. And the need to protect. He's probably more worried about Meteria right now, than even Lady Hera."

"You're probably right about that."

A few hours later, Meteria held a newborn baby boy. "I'm going to name him Bell. Bell Cranel."

Shurry couldn't explain it but his tail whipped back and forth. Something about the name made his senses remember something, but it was a far, and fleeting feeling.

…

A few weeks later, preparations had been finished. Maxim, and Empress stood to announce their plan to the people of Orario.

"For too long, the world has been plagued by monsters. We work to control the spread, and cull their numbers. However, there would still be three left…" Maxim began.

"And so, today, we will be leaving the city. Our targets for elimination… The three great quests. Behemoth, Leviathan, and the One Eyed Black Dragon." Empress picked up the slack for Maxim, then continued. "We do this to provide a safe future for all."

"Great Quests Strike team… We depart at once!"

The combined familia had all of their members level 5 and above. They were given the whole street in which to walk. It looked like a parade. And Shurry was forced to gulp down his feelings, wanting to hunt with them… But forced to stay behind. Lyca waived at him with a smile, as she passed by.
