"Yeah… I'm basically learning as I go," Amir said. He'd improvised the method on the spot. These two runs—using darkness to move and strike—were inspired by Sidious. With Amir's current level of control, hiding his presence in the dark was something he could pull off.
Seneir didn't bother with the dozen-plus Pykes anymore. Without weapons, they were no longer a threat.
He walked straight to the door and inserted the clearance card he'd taken.
Nothing happened.
They'd assumed that whoever handled buying Lumni spice had to be high-ranking. Turns out the clearance still wasn't enough.
So Amir looked at the dozen or so Pykes kneeling there.
"Whose clearance is the highest? Open it," Amir said coldly. "Or else…"
As expected, the Pyke in the middle trembled, fished a clearance card from his pocket, and shuffled to the door. He slid it into the slot.
The door began to open—starting from a seam in the center.
Seeing what lay beyond, Seneir didn't step in right away. He tilted his head and glanced at Amir.
That single look was enough. Amir understood immediately and entered the vault first.
A moment later, blaster fire roared behind him—along with desperate Pyke sobbing and begging.
Seneir had never been a kind person.
Amir was stunned by what he saw.
How rich were the Pykes? No one but the Pykes themselves could put a real number on it. But as one of the galaxy's biggest criminal syndicates, their wealth was clearly beyond anything normal people could imagine.
Now Amir was staring straight at that reality.
He had to admit it—his imagination had been too small.
He wanted to empty the place, but it was impossible.
Sneaking in alone was one thing. Bringing people to raid and haul everything out was another.
Seneir looked far calmer. He remembered why he was here and immediately began searching through the vault for the batch of equipment that might be stored inside.
Amir rubbed his hands together, staring at crate after crate of precious metals, not even sure which to grab. While Seneir worked, Amir wandered around.
Besides enormous stacks of hard currency, the rest was mostly stored spice. And most of it wasn't cheap street powder—it was named product. Amir even spotted a full crate of Glitterstim. The value of that single crate could rival Lumni.
Glitterstim was a spice mined on Kessel, a habitable Outer Rim world. In the planet's southern hemisphere were mines that produced it.
The famous Kessel Run took its name from that world.
And Kessel itself was infamous for Glitterstim.
The mines were controlled by the Pykes. That rare spice brought the syndicate obscene profit.
Unlike most spice—which mainly induced hallucinations and wrecked the nervous system—Glitterstim was also used as a psychoactive treatment. It could push the user into a strange heightened state, strengthening certain hard-to-describe perceptions. Amir had only heard rumors; he didn't know the exact effects.
What mattered was this: it wasn't as brutally addictive as other spice. It could be used like legitimate medicine.
Those traits—plus its rarity—made Glitterstim extraordinarily valuable.
In the end, Amir decided to take the Glitterstim crate. Not just because it was worth a fortune, but because he was genuinely curious.
He hefted the crate—then found another box in the corner: neatly stacked beskar ingots. A metal that could resist a lightsaber. Amir loved it.
But carrying one crate in each hand was already heavy. Amir frowned, frustrated. What he'd taken was still a microscopic fraction of what was here.
Meanwhile, Seneir found the equipment he wanted.
The devices were still in their shipping cases, with Imperial serial markings stamped on the outer shells. In a corner, Seneir even discovered the delivery acceptance records for the shipment.
He pulled out a professional recorder and began scanning the scene. What he captured was more than enough to serve as ironclad evidence.
Amir started checking their surroundings.
Based on Seneir's intel, the vault sat in the base's mid-levels—near the core. Escaping would mean crossing a long stretch of hostile territory.
Going back the way they came wasn't an option. On the way in, Amir had already crippled surveillance across this sector. That wasn't random—he'd been preparing a different extraction route. They were leaving from somewhere unexpected.
Soon, Seneir reluctantly put his recorder away. He grabbed two crates of credit chips and looked at Amir.
"You're not taking more?" Seneir asked.
Right then, Amir noticed an antigrav sled sitting on the floor beside the equipment crates.
He couldn't deny it—his heart moved.
And when his heart moved, he acted.
Amir activated the antigrav sled and started stacking crates of precious metal and credit chips onto it with brute force. Seneir's eye twitched watching the pile grow.
"You think we can actually get that out?" Seneir swallowed.
"If we can't, we ditch it on the way," Amir said, dragging the fully loaded sled toward the exit with one hand. "If I don't take it now, I'm not sleeping tonight."
Their route was already set. They sprinted for a specific corridor.
At the same time, a pulse of information rippled out from Amir's mind, expanding into the distance.
At the port, 32 snapped his head up.
The Traveler lifted off—slow, steady—then climbed to altitude. As it rose, the ship's outline turned translucent and vanished into the air.
Amir raised his pistol again and dropped several Pykes rushing in to reinforce. Enemy numbers were noticeably lower now—most of the defenders had likely been concentrated at the vault entrance, waiting to trap prey.
Too bad the prey had turned out to be two lions.
The next real obstacle would be outside. Once the Pykes realized what was happening inside, they'd dispatch ships to intercept.
The spice base fight would pull some forces away—but there would still be plenty left.
32 piloted the invisible Traveler back over the Pyke complex from above. This time he didn't head for the port. He steered toward the position Amir had transmitted.
Halfway up the spired structure, the Traveler came to a hover. 32 sent a return ping with his exact position.
Running full speed, Amir felt 32's call ahead and grinned.
He reached the end of the corridor.
This was the outer wall.
Amir extended his hand. An invisible surge poured forward. The supposedly unbreakable wall—seamless alloy plates—let out a strained, metallic groan as it began to tremble from the inside out.
Through the Force, Amir dismantled the internal anchoring structures piece by piece, splitting them apart, breaking them down.
At last, he lowered his hand and drove his lightsaber into the wall.
Moving clockwise, he cut a circular opening just large enough for a person to pass. Then he shoved.
The section finally broke free.
Outside air pressure rushed in, whipping Amir's robe.
Seneir stared at the thickness of the wall—nearly two meters, far longer than a lightsaber blade. How had Amir done that?
Another impossible thing.
Seneir's mind flashed to the old days on Coruscant.
Then—suddenly—an empty patch of sky split open.
The crack widened until it became a full opening, revealing the interior of the Traveler. BD-4 was waiting right at the ramp.
It was like a door had appeared in midair.
The moment 32 noticed the wall shifting, he'd brought the cloaked Traveler into position.
Amir shoved the antigrav sled forward, lifted it with the Force, and tossed it inside. Then he and Seneir jumped in after it.
The ramp sealed. The Traveler vanished completely, slipped past Pyke interceptors in the sky like it owned the air, and left Oba Diah behind.
