Amir slowly closed his eyes. Right now, under the pounding impact of Sidious's dark side power, his mind was exhausted to the breaking point. He could feel it—how much harder it was becoming to suppress his evil thoughts, how much harder it was to suppress his own desires, how impossible it felt to resist the fear of death.
In the earlier fight, he had relied entirely on the will to fight born from rage—using the dark side as a weapon, as a tool. But now, the other edge of that double-bladed sword finally turned toward him.
Amir's body bent slightly. He couldn't stop himself from wanting to submit to fear, to submit to power.
But just as the pressure forced him halfway into a bow, his finger calmly pressed the switch.
The instant it clicked, the whole world seemed to fall silent—yet that silence was only there to welcome the violence about to arrive.
In the next heartbeat, the entire base began to shake violently. The sudden catastrophe broke Sidious's dark side exertion for a moment. Amir slipped free of the crushing pressure and forced himself upright with effort.
"You can kill me, but my mind will never submit," Amir said, actually smiling. "And now you should start running."
The shaking grew worse and worse. Cracks began splitting across the walls. The bombs Amir had built had enough force to punch through load-bearing walls—so strong that even alloy plating couldn't hold.
Inside an elevator, Obi-Wan kept rubbing his thumb along his lightsaber hilt, eyes locked on the floor indicator.
Only 82.
Why is it this slow?!
As that thought crossed his mind, the elevator suddenly jolted violently.
"An earthquake?" Obi-Wan blurted in alarm. "No—those charges!"
He thought of the explosives he had painstakingly helped plant. He had even wondered whether their yield would be enough to shake a fortress like this.
Now he understood.
But you're still inside the structure…
Obi-Wan braced himself against the elevator wall to steady his body. Thankfully, the car itself didn't fail.
"So it's come to this… you were forced to detonate… Are you trying to take yourself with it…?"
A thick, filthy panic stabbed into Obi-Wan's heart like a needle.
"I have to make it… I have to… I already missed once… I… I will not be late again. Not for you, my apprentice!"
The warped elevator doors trembled open like an old man on his last breath.
Obi-Wan surged out, lightsaber in hand, sprinting toward the central room.
The huge doors and the surrounding wall had clearly been blown open. The level was blacked out. Obi-Wan didn't hesitate—he drove forward, stepped through the broken doorframe in a single stride.
A shadow holding a crimson lightsaber was levitating a scarred young man in midair.
That shadow was snarling with fury: "You will! I will watch you fall into the dark with my own eyes!"
The blond boy's face was twisted under torment, yet his eyes were brighter than they had ever been.
Obi-Wan's hands trembled—not from fear, but from rage, and from the shock of what Amir was enduring. He invoked his full strength in the Force, seized that hateful shadow, and yanked backward with savage force.
With the base shaking, and Obi-Wan's pull added on top, Sidious could no longer hold his footing. He staggered back several steps, dragged off balance.
Amir was released. He dropped to the ground on his knees, raised a hand, and injected himself again. Then, with everything he had left, he forced himself to stand.
The tremors worsened. The entire base felt like it was sinking. Cracks spread along the walls.
"Amir!" Obi-Wan shouted. "Out—get to the port outside!"
"Master…" Amir managed a happy smile. Being saved felt… incredible. He had truly believed he was going to die here.
No time for words. Amir braced himself and staggered toward the doorway.
Obi-Wan charged, swinging at Sidious.
Red and blue blades collided in rapid, brutal exchanges. Sidious, enraged, was far more terrifying than when Amir faced him alone. But Obi-Wan displayed the highest level of swordsmanship, blocking every strike, locking the frenzied Sith Lord in place.
Amir didn't forget to pull the fully copied data cartridge free, and he snatched up the unconscious BD-4. Step by step, he moved toward the exit.
Step.
Step.
His vision began to blur. His breathing grew heavy.
"Amir! Amir!"
Hearing that familiar voice, Amir lifted his head.
Ahsoka.
Wasn't she supposed to be on the main front…?
Warm arms caught him. She pulled him onto her back and ran, her body rocking with each step. Darkness shifted and broke—bright light blossomed ahead. Amir had never loved sunlight as much as he did at that moment, and as the light grew, the fog in his mind thinned slightly.
Above, the Traveler hovered in, descending. No. 32 and Din Djarin jumped straight out of the open ramp, took Amir from Ahsoka, and hauled him aboard.
"Move! Move! The base is collapsing! Where's Obi-Wan?!" Veronica shouted nearby.
As she spoke, two fighting silhouettes shifted into view at the port. Ahsoka ignited her lightsaber and charged in, joining Obi-Wan to block Sidious.
"Take off! Now!" Obi-Wan shouted.
The two of them fought while retreating, backing toward the port's edge.
Obi-Wan thrust out a hand, lifted a massive slab of mountain rock that had fallen onto the platform, and hurled it at Sidious, forcing him to step back to evade.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka used the opening and leapt backward together.
Both cleared more than ten meters, landing inside the Traveler's ramp.
"No!" Sidious roared. He thrust both hands forward. A massive flood of dark side power erupted from his fingers—becoming thick, brutal Force lightning that lashed toward the retreating Traveler.
Obi-Wan and Ahsoka went pale. They threw their arms out together, raising a huge Force barrier to block it.
But the power was overwhelming. Even at full output, they could only cancel part of it.
Luckily, that was enough.
A section of the Traveler's hull was struck by the thick lightning and instantly burst into scorching fire—but it didn't hit the thrusters or other critical systems. The ship could still fly.
As the Traveler pulled away, Obi-Wan and Sidious stared at each other across the distance.
Obi-Wan knew that man.
Long before the Empire existed, Obi-Wan had known him as the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic:
Sheev Palpatine.
"Sith Lord…"
The Traveler's ramp sealed shut, leaving a lone black-robed figure standing on the port platform, the mountain collapsing beneath his feet. Nearby, his ship had already been reduced to wreckage by Veronica.
Ahsoka looked back at the experimental base as it continued to crumble. The bottom levels were completely shattered. The structure had sunk more than ten meters. The outer wall was torn apart, and without a stable foundation it would never be usable again.
But it still wasn't enough.
Ahsoka pulled a device from her pocket and pressed a button.
From the outside, nothing seemed to change. Yet Ahsoka's face loosened with relief.
On Level 150, in a hidden corner, a backpack detonated silently.
There was no violent blast wave and no raging heat—only a vast, invisible pulse expanding outward from that point.
Level 50. From here upward, every floor was packed with dense rows of growth vats. Inside each vat was a naked clone, asleep, never awakened. Most of their bodies were unlike ordinary people—some had twisted beast claws, others were covered in scales, strange and unsettling.
But the evil was never theirs.
When the invisible pulse reached this level, the vats erupted in massive electrical discharge. Their interiors were destroyed completely. Every system—monitoring, recording, storage, everything—was ruined beyond recovery, then ignited by the surging current. No one would ever obtain anything from this place again.
Level 49, Level 50, Level 51…
All the way to the very top.
Firelight flickered. The clones fell into a permanent sleep. Their bodies vanished into the flames, returning to the Force.
Ahsoka put the device away, let out a quiet sigh, and whispered:
"May the Force be with you."
