Land of Lightning—a country surrounded by towering mountains that reach the clouds. Due to the high altitude, anyone within its borders can always hear the rumbling of thunder echoing in their ears.
This land is filled with hot springs and majestic mountain scenery, making it seem more like a perfect vacation destination than a battlefield.
If one were to stand atop one of the tallest peaks and look down, they'd witness a breathtaking natural wonder: rivers flowing from the central mountains winding through valleys and finally converging at the ocean's edge, forming a spectacle only nature could create—especially stunning at sunrise and sunset.
And it is here, in this land, that the author's story begins.
According to the Naruto world timeline, it is the 32nd year of Konoha. The setting: a simple home in the Hidden Cloud Village of the Land of Lightning.
Inside, a young boy with short white hair murmured to himself:
"The Naruto world… I can't believe the first world I've entered is the one I know best. And I've even become Killer Bee—the Jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails from the original series. But this main quest... seems a bit tricky."
Lee Jun—no, he should now be called Killer Bee—was staring at the ridiculous task displayed in his mind.
Side Quest (Part 1): Become the Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki.Main Quest: Save the Third Raikage, who died on the battlefield. (A man who fought ten thousand alone—how could he die just like that? Go protect him, young man!)
The first half of the side quest was easy—just follow the original timeline. But the main quest? Protecting the Third Raikage wouldn't be too hard—if he was strong enough. Otherwise, even knowing when and how the Raikage would die during the Third Great Ninja War wouldn't be enough to change it.
What bugged him more was that he wouldn't even get to see Naruto, the main character of the series. To be in the Naruto world but not see Naruto himself? What a letdown.
No matter. The path forward was clear: get stronger. He had no intention of dying in his very first world. After all, Naruto was a dangerous universe. Sure, Killer Bee lived to the end in canon—but that was without trying to change fate by saving the Third Raikage. His situation was different.
"Let's check out the mysterious starter pack I got… Please don't be laundry detergent or something useless… I'm begging you!"
"Would you like to open the mysterious starter gift pack?"
"Yes!"
Almost the instant he confirmed, a divine-sounding voice echoed in his ears:
"Congratulations, Host. You have received:
Logia-type Devil Fruit: Rumble-Rumble Fruit (Goro Goro no Mi)
Support Skill: Mind Reading"
"YEAH!" he shouted excitedly, immediately devouring the Devil Fruit without hesitation.
A Logia-type Devil Fruit! Sage Mode? Forget that. Now that he had the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, he was practically in Sage Mode all the time. And not just any lightning—this was divine lightning, under his command!
What's more, Logia users had no physical bodies—he'd be immune to most physical attacks! No one could kill him now!
...Or so he thought.
Just as he was celebrating and breaking into song, he suddenly stopped dead.
After reading more about the Devil Fruit's abilities, a major issue popped up—one that gave him a headache.
Whenever he received a fatal blow, his body would indeed automatically elementalize to avoid damage. However, during that transformation, his Sage Chakra would be consumed. Once that Sage Chakra was depleted, he would no longer be able to use elementalization—meaning, he could still die.
"What kind of scam is this?! I thought I was invincible!"
But the worst part? The Sage Chakra in his body didn't increase through training—it came from his body passively absorbing natural energy from the environment. It was constant, sure, but the speed? Slower than a turtle.
While Killer Bee was absorbing all this information, a child's voice called from outside:
"Big Bro Bee! Are you home?"
"I'm coming! Hang on a sec," Killer Bee called out as he tidied his clothes and walked toward the door.
From his memories, he knew this child was Motoi Gi, just 3 years old—one year younger than him. After Bee's parents died on a mission, Gi became his only true friend.
"You're so slow today! We're gonna be late. Let's go!" Motoi Gi urged.
This kid had long black hair and green face paint across his nose—a unique look.
"Yeah," Killer Bee replied and followed along.
In this harsh world, even 3-year-olds were already attending school. They couldn't refine chakra yet, but they were still taught the basics of chakra and essential ninja knowledge.
As he walked, Killer Bee breathed in the air—cleaner and purer than Earth's. He looked around at the familiar yet foreign surroundings. For a moment, he felt like this was the place he truly belonged.
But he shook the thought away.
As much as he liked it here, he wanted to go back—to return to his parents. He wasn't an only child, but if he vanished, he knew his parents would be devastated. He had already caused them enough pain. He couldn't let them suffer again.
He silently vowed: I will complete this mission, earn enough reward points, and return to the real world to take care of my aging parents.
"Big Bro Bee! Big Bro Bee!"
"What is it?" Killer Bee snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Gi.
"Are you okay? You seem kinda weird today, even your voice sounds different."
"What could possibly be wrong with me?" Killer Bee rolled his eyes. Just thinking about having to talk in that original rapping style made his head hurt. There was no way he was doing that.
The two chatted and laughed on their way, and in about ten minutes, they arrived at the classroom. It was already full of children aged 3 to 5—around thirty in total. This was the civilian class.
Just as they took their seats, a teacher dressed in a standard ninja outfit entered the room. Killer Bee paid close attention throughout the class. He couldn't refine chakra yet, but memorizing this knowledge was still worthwhile.
After all, who knew if chakra worked in other worlds too? If it did, that would mean one more life-saving ability in his arsenal.
