Chapter 14 - Ch-14 The Three Swords.

After hearing these words of rejection from my parents, I definitely felt frustrated. I let out a sigh, stood up, and left the hall, returning to my room. As I dragged the door shut behind me, I immediately lay down on my bed and stared blankly at the ceiling for a while.

I didn't mind my parents not allowing me to become a ninja or a bounty hunter. Their worries were definitely valid, and I understood them. But I still felt frustrated because I also felt guilty. The main reason the expenses of the house had become so high was because of me. And as my strength increased in the future, the more food I would have to eat, in even larger quantities, and the expenses of the house would continue to increase along with it.

It definitely felt like I was becoming a burden on my parents. Although they didn't tell me directly, I could feel that they were also stressed about this matter. But at the same time, they definitely must have felt embarrassed about it. After all, how could they tell their only child to eat less? If they said something like that, then wouldn't they, as parents, be failing their own child?

I really don't want to become a burden on them.

After thinking this much, I let out another sigh and covered my face with my hand. Just then, a knock came from outside my room, and the door slid open. I removed my hand from my face and looked towards the doorway.

It was my father.

He entered my room and sat down on the bed while I was still lying there. He looked at me for a moment before saying, "I know what you are worried about. Don't worry about anything. I will think of a way… There will definitely be another way, so don't worry."

After hearing my father's words, I could only nod without saying anything else. He gave my shoulder a gentle pat before standing up and preparing to walk out of the room.

However, as if remembering something, he suddenly stopped, turned towards me, and said, "Well, when I found you unconscious in the farm hut, I saw that there were three swords beside you. Are they yours?"

After hearing this, I was stunned, but at the same time, I felt ecstatic, as I immediately understood where these swords had come from. Still, I quickly composed myself and said, "Yes, those swords are mine."

As soon as I said this, my father immediately asked, "When did you buy them?"

After hearing this question, I paused for a moment. I wasn't that good at lying, and I couldn't exactly tell him the truth either. So, after thinking for a moment, I said, "Well… I got them as a gift from a friend."

After hearing my answer, my father was definitely not satisfied. There was clear hesitation on his face, and I already knew what he was thinking. So, I quickly added, "Well, I assure you, Father, that these swords were not stolen by me. They were definitely given to me by someone as a gift."

My father looked at my face for a few moments, perhaps trying to determine whether I was lying or not. Finally, he gave a nod and said, "Well, I have kept those three swords under the bed. You can take them."

After saying this, he walked out of my room and gently closed the door behind him.

As soon as my father closed the door, I immediately sprang to my feet in excitement. I lifted the hanging bedsheet from the side of the bed and brought out all three swords from underneath it. As I looked at them, my eyes were literally shining with excitement.

I first picked up the sword with the white hilt and white scabbard. The moment I held it in my hand, I remembered how Zoro had introduced me to all these swords. I had thought about these swords almost every day, so I definitely recognized each one. I knew the names of all of them.

This white-hilted, white-scabbard sword was 'Wado Ichimonji.'

I slightly unsheathed it, and as I looked at the gleaming blade, my eyes became even more excited. I couldn't help but say, "Fine blade. Fine blade, indeed."

After admiring it for a moment, I sheathed it again and carefully placed it back on the ground.

Then I picked up the red-hilted and red-scabbard sword. Its name was 'Sandai Kitetsu'. It was a cursed weapon, and definitely, the moment I picked up the sword, I felt an ominous sensation from it.

While telling me about this sword, Zoro had warned me that even after I mastered the Breath of All Things, I might still find it difficult to completely control this sword's cutting power. It might even disobey me.

After mastering the Breath of All Things, I generally had the ability to cut whatever I wanted and not cut whatever I wanted. However, this sword was different. It might disobey me and sometimes cut things that I had no intention of cutting. Because of that, I would have to be extremely careful whenever I used this blade.

This really is a troublesome sword.

Then I finally picked up the third blade. This was 'Shusui'.

As I unsheathed it, a pure black blade immediately came into my view. I already knew what a black blade signified, and just looking at it was enough to make me feel excited. This blade was definitely one of the best blades.

After admiring it for a while, I sheathed the sword once again.

I then looked at all three swords for a while, my gaze moving from one blade to another. These were not ordinary swords. They were going to accompany me for a long time, and because of that, I definitely had to take good care of them.

With this thought and a satisfied smile on my face, I also thanked Zoro.

"Thanks, Zoro."

Zoro, who was inside my mental space, immediately responded, his voice entering my mind.

"Well, you passed the test, so getting these swords is well deserved."

After hearing Zoro's words, I said, "Well, you trained me so that I could pass the test."

Then I gave a cheeky smile before adding, "Of course, my hard work was there too."

My cheeky smile gradually turned into a grin as I finished speaking.
