UK:GSW Chapter 339 – Uchiha Kei: Karin, Actually, I'm Your Stepdad
"Since the area has already been cleared, then… let's go meet the last surviving Uchiha of this world!"
Uchiha Kei smiled at Minato Namikaze, who nodded upon hearing this. Then, right there, he immediately performed a Summoning Jutsu.
With a puff of white smoke from the Summoning Jutsu, a sealed black stone coffin appeared.
Under Minato's control, the stone coffin soon opened on its own. Cold white air escaped from inside, producing a sizzling sound.
Clearly, this stone coffin had a refrigeration function. As the white smoke dispersed and the coffin lid opened halfway, one could see that there was actually a person lying inside.
And that person… was none other than Uchiha Kei.
Yes, Uchiha Kei.
Of course, this was definitely not Uchiha Kei's real body. He had been in the main world's Hidden Leaf Village the whole time, in the safest location, under multiple layers of protection, never putting himself in danger. If danger did arise, he would follow the classic tactic of pulling everyone in front of him as a shield — truly the culmination of the "Supreme Survivalist" art.
However, while staying safe, Uchiha Kei also wanted to travel and enjoy himself, to roam without any danger when the time was right. This time, his trip used a Shadow Clone, which, thanks to his mental network abilities and other powers acquired through the system, could display fairly strong combat capability.
But Shadow Clones had a big drawback — they were fragile, and their usage was always limited.
Under such circumstances, a Shadow Clone alone wasn't enough.
Thus, the Puppet Body was put into use.
Yes — the Uchiha Kei lying in the stone coffin was a Puppet Body jointly created for him by Orochimaru and Sasori.
Unlike mass-produced puppet bodies, this one had been enhanced with all sorts of advanced modifications. It could perfectly carry Uchiha Kei's will, allow him to fight at nearly the same level as his real body, and, most importantly, let him use his Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan to the fullest while consuming chakra at the same rate as his real body.
What's more, it contained part of the Nine-Tails' chakra and some of the energy from the Ryumyaku, giving it an enormous amount of chakra — on par with a Tailed Beast in human form.
Additionally, this body had a built-in "Genjutsu Network" link and a signal amplifier, ensuring that even if the signal was jammed, the network connection could be maintained as much as possible.
Furthermore, activating the Puppet Body required merging a Shadow Clone into it. This ensured that even if the Genjutsu Network signal was cut off and Uchiha Kei's main consciousness couldn't be projected over, the Shadow Clone's will would still keep the Puppet Body operational.
In short, this Puppet Body was an outstanding vessel.
Its only downside was the high cost and the need for regular maintenance. After a certain period of use, it had to be taken back for servicing and even parts replacement — much like an expensive precision robot.
Therefore, unless necessary, Uchiha Kei kept it stored in the stone coffin, which was itself kept at the Rōran base, and only summoned via Summoning Jutsu when needed.
Of course, this was just the method for this particular mission. If Jiraiya and Minato weren't with him, he would use it differently — after all, a Shadow Clone couldn't use Summoning Jutsu.
Now that the super Puppet Body was defrosted, Uchiha Kei had his Shadow Clone touch it. The Shadow Clone's form seemed to melt into energy and was absorbed by the Puppet Body.
The next moment, the Puppet Body suddenly opened its eyes and sat up from the stone coffin.
After moving his body a bit and confirming that the Genjutsu Network link was working perfectly, Uchiha Kei nodded in satisfaction. He felt frighteningly strong right now.
Then, Uchiha Kei strode toward where Team Taka was located.
Minato didn't follow, as this was Uchiha Kei's time to meet with a younger member of the Uchiha clan. He would just wait nearby until his friend needed him.
Considerately, Minato also put the stone coffin away, not letting it sit out in the sun.
Before long, Sasuke Uchiha noticed someone approaching and immediately activated his Sharingan, radiating a sharp, intimidating aura.

Jugo took position at Sasuke's left with a kunai in hand. Suigetsu Hozuki readied his Executioner's Blade at Sasuke's right. Karin, acting as the team's support, shielded the others and asked from behind Sasuke, "Sasuke, who is it?"
Sasuke replied in that deep, magnetic voice that could easily fit in another world as a high-jumping superhero in a city called Fuyuki: "Don't know. But… very strong."
Following Sasuke's words, Karin also sensed it — and instantly froze. As a member of the Uzumaki clan, she had an exceptionally strong sensory ability. The mysterious newcomer hadn't hidden his chakra, so she directly felt an enormous amount of it.
The sheer magnitude of that chakra surpassed anyone she had ever encountered, even Orochimaru.
Such overwhelming presence made Karin break into a cold sweat. She understood now why Sasuke said the person was strong before they had even appeared — clearly, Sasuke had seen that terrifying chakra through his Sharingan.
Indeed — in Sasuke's vision, there was a chakra like boiling fire approaching at a steady pace. This level of chakra… he had only seen it in Naruto. Even Gaara's One-Tail Shukaku couldn't compare.
"So… is that Naruto coming?"
Sasuke wondered, since he could see traces of Nine-Tails-like qualities in that chakra.
But his speculation was soon shattered — because the person finally came into view.
Walking leisurely around a few trees, Uchiha Kei emerged.
Seeing the unfamiliar face, everyone froze, immediately wondering who he was.
Uchiha Kei smiled first and said, "Yo, good evening, everyone."
Sasuke narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?"
Uchiha Kei kept smiling, but instead of answering, he activated his Sharingan.
When the three-tomoe Sharingan appeared, the members of Team Taka were stunned, all showing disbelief.
Suigetsu exclaimed, "That's… the Sharingan?! And it's the same three tomoe as Sasuke's? What's going on? Could this guy be your brother, Sasuke?"
Before Sasuke could answer, Karin retorted, "Are you an idiot? We've seen intel on Uchiha Itachi's appearance. This guy looks nothing like him!"
Jugo murmured, "A strange Uchiha? But… I thought apart from Sasuke and his brother, there were no other Uchiha left?"
His muttering reflected the same doubt the others had — and Sasuke too. Believing all this time that he was one of only two Uchiha survivors, Sasuke's Sharingan tomoe spun rapidly, showing his inner turmoil.
He stared into Uchiha Kei's eyes, trying to judge their authenticity.
In the end, Sasuke had to admit — they were real Sharingan.
Yes, even though it was a Puppet Body, the Sharingan was a projection of Uchiha Kei's own will and power, and Sasuke couldn't tell otherwise. Orochimaru and Sasori's handiwork truly was remarkable.
Sasuke was now deeply unsettled. The Uchiha of the Leaf had been wiped out — only he and his elder brother remained.
Yet Uchiha Kei's appearance shattered that belief, proving there were other Uchiha in the shinobi world.
But where had he come from? Had an Uchiha escaped the massacre? Or were there Uchiha outside the Leaf?
These thoughts tangled in Sasuke's mind, roiling beneath his cold exterior.
After a long pause, Sasuke finally asked, "What do you want with me?"
He didn't mention anyone else — confident that the stranger was here for him.
Uchiha Kei could tell what Sasuke was thinking — and though he wasn't wrong, well… traveling through the shinobi world and teasing the proud "Second Pillar" was an opportunity one couldn't pass up.
So Uchiha Kei smirked dismissively. "What are you talking about? Sure, we're both Uchiha, and I did want to meet you, the last Uchiha of this world… but my main reason for coming here is actually for that Uzumaki girl behind you."
At once, the three boys turned toward Karin, who pointed to herself in shock. "Huh? Me?"
Then came a wave of nervousness and fear. The boys frowned, thinking the man was after her unique abilities.
Uchiha Kei nodded seriously. "Yes, you, Karin — because I'm basically your stepdad."
After all, Kikyō was Karin's mother in the original story. Even though the main world's Kikyō would never give birth to that Karin, genetically she was still Karin's mother.
So, having already established a relationship with Kikyō, Uchiha Kei's claim wasn't false. And he did plan to take Karin back to the main world.
This girl had suffered enough — and would suffer more, even being stabbed by a future darkened Sasuke. Having taken it upon himself to act as her elder, Uchiha Kei couldn't let that happen.
Thus, his serious tone carried no acting — it came from genuine intent.
His words left everyone dumbfounded, especially Suigetsu, whose gaze darted between Karin and Uchiha Kei as if he'd seen a ghost.
Karin's face darkened, fists clenched. She wanted to curse at him — but his overwhelming chakra kept her silent, fearing his anger might doom the whole team.
So she held back, took a deep breath, and said, "Sir, that joke isn't funny at all. And making fun of someone's deceased mother — don't you think that's going too far?"
Hearing this, the others realized there was an issue — and knowing Karin was an orphan, they grew angry too. As orphans themselves, they understood her feelings.
Uchiha Kei looked at her thoughtfully. "I understand you might misunderstand me, but given my relationship with Kikyō, and the fact that she really is your mother, I am indeed your stepdad — that's no joke."
"Also, my Kikyō isn't your deceased mother, but a girl who's just turned eighteen."
This made Team Taka's expressions shift to "Do you hear yourself right now?" They had no concept of parallel worlds or time travel, so they simply couldn't understand.
Uchiha Kei only smiled. "It's fine if you don't understand. Once I take you to meet Kikyō, you'll see."
At this, the team members exchanged glances. Suigetsu asked, "Uh… can we believe anything this guy's saying? Honestly, I don't get what he's talking about…"
Jugo thought for a moment. "If it were Lord Orochimaru or Kabuto, they could probably have a good conversation with him."
"…," Sasuke stayed silent, feeling complicated and even annoyed. They were both supposed to be the last Uchiha, yet this man said he came for Karin — an outsider — and spouted incomprehensible nonsense. It was frustrating.
To Karin, his words stirred real anger — it concerned her late mother, after all.
But… seeing his serious expression, and feeling the warm, elder-like kindness in his gaze, her heart twinged. As an Uzumaki, she could clearly sense he had no ill will — only genuine, strong goodwill.
This made her hesitate, even waver. Why did he feel so warm? Could he really have known her mother? But if so, why wasn't he there when her mother needed him most?
Confusion, anger, doubt, and bewilderment swirled in her mind.
From a distance, Minato, who had been watching, sighed again. "As expected of Kei — he easily does what I can't. This strange way of acting… I could never manage it in my life."
It really was far too absurd.
