Although Minato Namikaze had taught Shindai the Rasengan, he hadn't mastered it yet.

A shockwave hit them, sending both Shindai and Hikaku flying.
After rolling several times and crashing into a tree, they finally stopped.
Staring wide-eyed at the utter chaos ahead, Shindai stammered, "This... this fucking thing was *me?!*"
Rubbing his shoulder from slamming into the tree, Hikaku snapped, "If not you, then would it be me?! It was your own technique—you don't even know what you created? You're the only one who couldn't dispel it!"
Scratching his head awkwardly, Shindai said, "Well, uh, I just developed it recently!"
As Shindai stood up, Minato Namikaze, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and several ANBU black ops emerged before him and Hikaku.
Minato gazed at Shindai and Hikaku, puzzled. "That explosion just now... was that your doing?"
Hikaku stepped slightly away from Shindai. "Not me. Him."
Everyone's eyes turned toward Shindai.
Shindai forced a laugh. "I, I didn't mean to do it either."
Furrowing his eyebrows, Hiruzen asked confusedly, "Shindai, what exactly did you do? How could such a massive explosion happen? And cause so much damage? Fortunately, this place is remote; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable!"
Even more embarrassed, Shindai lowered his head. "I was just conducting some small research, or you could say I invented a new jutsu. Then things went like that. But this time was an accident—it was my first try, so no experience. It won't happen again!"
Minato and Hiruzen exchanged glances.
A jutsu? Judging by the devastation left behind, Shindai's new technique had already reached at least A-class destruction level.
