Shindai finally reached the Kannabi Bridge after a long journey.
Since the destruction of the Kannabi Bridge, no one had ever rebuilt it—it remained in ruins.
Shindai gazed at the rubble ahead with concentration. "Where did I see it from back then? I think I was standing right here... facing over there..."
His eyes shifted toward the riverside beneath the Kannabi Bridge, now buried under piles of rocks.
"There! That's it!"
After confirming the spot, Shindai formed hand seals with both hands.
[Magnet Release! Iron Sand Spinning Top]
Drawing on his Iron Sand, Shindai molded it into pyramid-shaped blades that spun rapidly and slammed into the rocks, shattering them into pieces.
Next, he swept the debris aside using waves of iron sand. Finally, he saw the seal inscribed on the cliff wall.
Despite all the damage from the iron sand attack, the seal on the cliff wall remained completely intact. Clearly, it was still active.
Shindai stepped up to the sealing formula carved into the cliff face and took out the scroll Kushina Uzumaki had given him for breaking the seal.
"So many hand seals! My hands are gonna be killing me by the end!"
Muttering complaints, Shindai bit his finger and carefully traced symbols onto the sealing formula with his blood, following the patterns shown on the scroll.
Once done, he shook his hand and began focusing, forming the seals as instructed on the scroll while guiding his chakra.
The Water Release: Water Dragon Shot required 44 hand seals, but Shindai had to perform a full set of 287—messing up even one meant starting from the beginning again.
To avoid mistakes, he moved through the seals slowly.
After several minutes of careful execution, he completed the sequence.
Placing both hands at the center of the sealing formula on the cliff wall, he murmured,
"Sealing Release Technique"
The symbols Shindai had drawn on the cliff's sealing formula began to stir, flowing in a way he couldn't comprehend and merging with the original markings.
Moments later, the sealing formula on the cliff wall started to rotate, like a lock turning open. Then the rotation stopped, the ground trembled, and cracks spread across the rock surface.
Unsure what was happening, Shindai stepped far back to observe, secretly excited.
This seal should be broken now—was there treasure inside? Or maybe more than one kind?
The cracks widened further until an opening appeared, and the shaking ceased.
Approaching the cave entrance, Shindai peeked inside—it was dark and seemed vast.
He frowned tightly.
This wasn't how he imagined it. In his mind, the place should have been filled with golden treasures shining brightly.
Shindai stepped inside, and his mood instantly dropped to rock bottom.
"What the hell?! There's nothing here at all! Where's the treasure?!"
Shindai was so infuriated that his chest heaved violently, feeling as though he'd been deceived.
He pulled out the scroll that read "[There's a treasure at the Kannabi Bridge]" and slammed it onto the ground.
"I must've been fucking out of my mind when I wrote that! I actually got tricked by myself!"
Still unwilling to give up, Shindai searched around the cave. Inside, he found a dilapidated iron door. Beyond the door was something that looked like a coffin—no, it definitely was a coffin!
Muttering to himself, Shindai said, "Could this be someone's tomb? Is the treasure inside the coffin? That doesn't feel right... Am I really going to become a grave robber?"
But then again... "You're already dead anyway. What's the point of having treasures you can't even use? How about this—I'll temporarily borrow them. If you were a guy, I'll make a pretty female puppet to bury with you. If you were a girl, I'll make a handsome male puppet for your afterlife company. What do you think? Pretty generous, huh? Definitely better than being all alone."
"I'll count to three—if you don't speak up, I'm taking that as a yes! Three... two... one! Alright, your silence means yes. Time to pop open this coffin lid!"
Shindai kicked open the iron door and reached out to grab the coffin lid, attempting to pull it off—but it wouldn't budge at all.
"Huh? What's going on here?"
He carefully examined the coffin and finally noticed a Sealing Tag stuck to the edge of the lid.
Scratching his head, Shindai said, "The hell? This coffin is sealed too? How am I supposed to open it? Should I return to Konoha and ask Sister Kushina to break the seal first? That would be such a hassle. Besides, judging from its appearance, there probably isn't much treasure in there anyway. Seems hardly worth the effort."
After thinking for quite a while, Shindai patted the coffin and said, "This thing looks ancient anyway. I'll get you a new one later—something made of iron sand. It'll be sturdier."
[Magnet Release: Iron Sand Rectangle!]
Using his Iron Sand Body, Shindai created a rectangular block and smashed it into the coffin with force.
However, the coffin emitted a burst of chakra, successfully resisting the impact from the iron sand block.
"Heh! So tough?"
[Magnet Release: Iron Sand Spinning Top!]
The spinning triangular iron sand drill frantically bored into the coffin lid.
Yet five minutes passed without any damage done to the coffin.
Shindai tried various methods desperately but ultimately failed every time.
In contrast, Shindai himself ended up sitting on the floor exhausted, panting heavily.
After resting briefly, wiping sweat from his forehead, he muttered, "This shell's just too hard! Should I just give up?"
Feeling helpless, Shindai started entertaining thoughts of retreat.
Suddenly, inspiration struck. His eyes narrowed slightly.
"One last try—with a new technique I developed but never used before! If it fails, I'm out!"
After channeling some chakra, Shindai stood upright once more.
He performed Hand Seals.
[Magnet Release! Iron Sand Cylinder!]
An iron sand cylinder rose upright beside the coffin.
[Magnet Release! Electromagnetic Blast!]
Shindai activated his Magnet Release kekkei genkai, creating an electromagnetic field. The current flickered and instantly illuminated the entire cave.
As Shindai clasped his hands together, the electromagnetic field enveloped the iron sand cylinder. A tremendous force erupted violently.
Massive waves of energy surged through the cave, while electricity danced like silver snakes in the air, crackling loudly.
The intense energy radiated outward in all directions from the iron sand cylinder, unleashing chaotic force. Wherever it reached, rocks shattered and dust filled the air.
The cave walls bore countless cracks under this terrifying power, with debris falling like rain.
The thunderous roar of the electromagnetic blast echoed inside the cave, deafeningly loud, as if attempting to tear the entire cave apart.
Within the fierce electromagnetic explosion, the seal on the coffin finally gave way, and the sealing tags began to dissipate.
A faint smirk crossed Shindai's lips — the power of this attack had finally overwhelmed the seal.
Immediately after breaking the seal, Shindai snapped his fingers, reorganizing the chaotic charges within the electromagnetic blast, and the electric currents instantly vanished.
This was a jutsu he developed after studying how magnetic fields could transform into electromagnetic ones.
Its principle involved generating a strong magnetic field within the conductive iron sand cylinder using electric currents from the electromagnetic field. The interaction between the magnetic field and current pulled the load inward toward the central axis, unleashing tremendous energy.
Shindai approached the coffin. The seal had been completely broken, and lifting the lid was now effortless for him.
"Huh? The one inside is just a little girl?"
