Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Two Days

The next morning, Tyler woke up feeling slightly sore, courtesy of the previous day's workout.

"Wow... It's really not a dream," he smiled happily, looking around his room.

The next moment, he groaned slightly in pain from his sore body. He got out of his creaking bed, and went to the bathroom to splash some water on his face.

After he was done, he put on the only sneakers he had—ths same sneakers he used for workout the previous day—and made his way downstairs.

When he got downstairs, he saw that his mom was already up and almost done making breakfast.

She wasn't the only one up, as little Devin was also up and helping out in the kitchen.

Since it was a weekend, Tyler and Devin won't be going to school, but their mom would be going to work. As she has two jobs to work today.

When Tyler saw his mom in the kitchen, he wanted to stay and help out—to spend time with her and Devin—but he couldn't.

Besides completing the daily mission, he had something even more important to accomplish today. It was something that's crucial to his quest to build an empire.

And what could that possibly be? His memories. He wants to carefully note down every opportunity that could make him money, so that he can grab it for himself, or create it.

Tyler regressed with all of his memories intact but the issue is that he's only human and his memories aren't that great.

Though he remembered everything related to the financial market, due to it being his line of work, he still wanted to document everything—just in case.

That way, if he was to by chance forget anything, he won't have to worry, as he can refer to his note.

Think of it as a mental two-factor authentication—memory plus record.

Of course, there was also the possibility of the future changing due to the infamous butterfly effects. But as long as nothing has changed, Tyler would make use of those opportunities as they come.

"Good morning, mom," Tyler greeted, walking past the kitchen to the door.

"Good morning, honey. Where are you going this early in the morning," Helena asked curiously.

"Workout," Tyler replied simply, opening the door and leaving.

He didn't want to give his mom any chance to ask more questions, as he was very familiar with her inquisitive nature.

Helena was actually surprised by Tyler's response.

Workout? She found it to be very strange, as Tyler had never actively done something like that before.

She was very curious as to what could had caused the change.

"Did he get a girlfriend... Or he's trying to get one," she muttered.

"He started yesterday, mom," Devin said, causing Helena to smile.

"Is that so?... I guess he must have a reason for it," she smiled and continued what she was doingx while wondering about Tyler's changes.

....

Tyler was almost done with his workout and was already on the last lap of his 10km run.

As he ran, his mind couldn't help but drift towards the lottery ticket and his chances of winning.

He had made sure to follow the exact sequence, just as the trucker had narrated it in his story.

He bought the lottery ticket in the same store. If it was any other lottery, he would be worried about the draw date matching.

But Gold Rush lottery was completely different, as it's a weekly draw lottery.

What he had been worried about was the lottery ticket's serial number, but after Tony gave it to him, he checked and confirmed the last few digits matched the trucker's ticket in his previous life.

Of course there's the possibility that he might be wrong but he was hoping that he wasn't.

He couldn't afford to miss that 72-hour window for the One-Time 99.9% discount, or things are going to be very difficult for him.

And by difficult, he's talking about not being about to quickly obtain the cure for that sickness.

If he loses the discount, he will have to look for a way to source $10 million to unlock a Core knowledge branch.

Though the amount won't be a problem for him. The problem is time—something he doesn't have the luxury of.

He had less than two years to find a cure for that sickness—or it would manifest again and potentially claim his mother's life, just like it did in his previous life.

"If only I had other easier and viable option," Tyler sighed, letting out a ragged breath.

He quickly rounded up his workout, receiving the same system notification as yesterday.

[Ding! Mission Completed!]

[You have been rewarded with +1 Stat Point to allocate freely.]

Tyler made the same decision as the yesterday, choosing not to use the stat point.

Curious, he called up the status screen, wanting to see if his stat had increased naturally.

"I guess expecting a result in two days is a bit unrealistic... I will give it a week and see if there's any changes," he muttered to himself.

After that, he immediately made his way home.

When he got home, he saw that Devin was the only one at home, as their mom had left for work.

Tyler smiled, ruffling his hair, before going up to his room, to take his bath.

Few minutes later, he was done and back downstairs. He made his way to the dining table to have his breakfast and after he was done, he went back to his room to start taking down the notes, as planned.

Some minutes later, Tyler was done with taking down his notes, and this is what it looks like:

• Investing in index funds post-2008 and holding through recoveries. Holding dividend stocks for resilience during volatility.

• Targeting tech and AI stocks, and buying them very early.

• Diversifying into crypto—buying as much Bitcoin as possible, and buying them before it first ever pump.

• Buying as much real estate or REITs as possible, and quickly, as it's still recovering from the crash of 2008 and will explode very soon.

...

The note was rough but it contains the most important details and those that he can benefits in the earlier future.

He didn't bother with opportunities that arose later in the future, as he felt that things might change greatly before then.

And that was why he focused more on the immediate future.

With that done, all that was left for Tyler to do was wait for the Gold Rush lottery draw, which would take place the midnight after tomorrow.

And then, he will know his fate.

He let out a sigh, standing up from the bed, leaving his room and making his way downstairs.

The rest of the day went by uneventfully, with Tyler spending it, bonding with Devin.

Later in the evening, he took it upon himself to make dinner, surprising his mom once again.

Once again and for the second time—for Tyler, they all had a very lovely dinner as a family.

...

The next day was just as uneventful as the previous but it was very enjoyable for Tyler, as he spent it with his mom and Devin.

With the day being a day of rest, his mom was free for the whole day. And Tyler made sure to make the most of it, cherishing every single moment.

...

Time flew and two days passed. It was finally time for Tyler to check the result at Tony's store, and it was also a school day.
