Chapter 5 - ENCHANTED.

The journey to Nactar lasted an entire day, but soon enough, they found themselves in that foreign land. "We need to find an inn for the night" Aaron said.

"Not an inn, Sire, a clinic, you do not look well." Sean pleaded. With how the journey, Aaron had forgotten all about the wounds.

"Sure, let us find one which is not common then. We leave immediately after the treatment"

They walked into town and discretely asked for a clinic. It was south Nactar so they walked for a while to get there.

"Hello!" called Sean at the door. It looked more like a house than a clinic. Sean called out again and the door opened to an aged man.

"Hello! How can I help you?" the old man greeted politely.

"We were attacked by thieves on the way, my master is quite wounded. I heard there was a clinic. Could you please help?" Sean said as he gestured to Aaron in the corner.

The old man looked at them for some time before opening the door to let them in. He took them to one of the clinic beds after examining Aaron's wounds. He doubted how the man was able to walk with wounds that deep.

"Master this way" said Sean as the old man led them to one of the clinic rooms. Aaron got rid of his cloak, his shirt and the clothes on the wound with the help of Sean.

"I think we ran out of alcohol and antiseptics I will go get it from the store" the old man said as he hung his bag.

"Go with him Sean, get some clothes too." Aaron instructed and Sean walked away with the old man. Aaron felt like he hadn't been on a bed for ages and decided to relax a little. However, the pain from the wounds had become unbearable and he had lost so much blood his sight was hazy.

Soon he lost consciousness.

Meanwhile at the other end of the clinic.

A young lady was pacing back and forth as she thought aloud

"It seems father received a client today." "Oh today is such a lucky day"

"But father sometimes loses patients what if this one dies too"

"No I cannot allow that, I need to do something"

"I'll just sneak a peek"

There she was, standing by the door side of the patient room. She heard her father leave for the store so she knew she had no more than ten minutes to be done there.

"Is he asleep?", she thought. She made slight noises but no reactions.

Gathering her courage, she moved into the room, closed the door and stood by the bedside.

She had to examine the wounds first. She carefully pulled away the bandages and was slightly taken aback. He was in a horrible state. When she pulled the last bandage that was stuck on skin with a huge amount of dried blood, Aaron groaned.

Alarmed, she stepped back before realizing he was probably asleep. That was when she laid her eyes on the gorgeous man laying before her. His hair was dark as night sprayed over his forehead covered with sweat. His eyes slightly twinkled from the pain. He looked like so disheveled, torn clothes and all, yet so alluring at the same time.

The young woman found herself blushing profusely over the sight of such man. She wondered where he came from and who could have injured him so. However she had no time for that and had to ameliorate his condition before her father came back.

She then sat by the bedside, passed an arm on the wounded chest and she sang chants from the healing hymn. She hadn't the necessary equipment, but she knew her spell would heal up the wounds from deep inside which would prevent from bleeding so profusely and dying.

She formed a healing barrier as him as she sang healing chants continuously and let the energy she trapped in the healing sphere repair any broken arteries and pull a good amount of the torn flesh together.

She realized she would have done a perfect job with the right equipment but that would only alert her father and so she decided to stop when he was out of danger.

She was always in a trance during her spells and realized she didn't check if he was awake. Luckily enough, he was sleeping soundly. Getting rid of the barrier she rose from the bed and was ready to walk out when suddenly, a hand gripped hers and soon she was pulled by the waist and fell to the side of the man.

She felt like she was going crazy. She had to run away at all costs and now this man was pinning her down with just an arm of his. Out of options, she cast a spell to make him fall completely out of consciousness for a while and when his grip loosened, she ran out and away from the health center. Her heart pounding widely in her chest.

She was happy to have saved the man and also ensured some money for her father. However, she had never been so close with man, she felt so embarrassed, her hear wouldn't stop pounding widely.

Now, she just hoped he was completely out of it if not she would be in great trouble.

Aaron's POV.

I felt like I was losing when I heard some noise outside. I felt relieve thinking it was Sean and the old man to patch up these wounds before I lost it for good. It had never been this bad after a fight but they had stayed for a bit too long without any medical aid.

Then I heard light footsteps get towards the bed as my gaze my hazy, I had no clear view but what I was sure was, where the bandages coming off my body. The soft brush delicate fingers against my skin had me confirming it was a woman. I wondered if she worked there though the old man acted as though he was living alone.

I wanted to say a word but the sharp pain made me groan loudly instead.

She stepped back slightly in shock before sitting on the bed next to me. Then she passed her hand over my wounded abdomen in soft slow movements as I heard some noises. I couldn't tell if he was talking or singing but I couldn't react at all after that it was like my body was paralyzed.

Then I saw a green light and that was when I got worried. I think straight because of the pain and the chant put at some point the pain was nonexistent and the chant had me feeling like I wasn't in the same space anymore. It was otherworldly.

Soon, she woke up and turned as if to leave and then my arm reached out and pulled her to me. The last thing I could remember was the sweet alluring scent I got from her.

I felt that I had been enchanted for a moment and by the time I woke up there was just Sean and the old man next to me. Did they see her, who was she? And why was she here? I was so puzzled I couldn't think straight anymore.

Author's POV

The two men came back to a soundly sleeping Aaron and decided to clean his wounds while he was out of it. The injury did seem a lot better than before they left and the old man suggested he must have recovered while asleep.

Sean following his master's request started to make arrangements for them to leave immediately he woke up and paid the old man for his services. While the old man brewed some medicine for him to take when awake.

The old man was curious about their situation but decided not to ask any questions.

Soon after, Sean noticed Aaron sitting up and hurried over to his side.

"Sire, it's good to see you awake. How are you feeling" Sean asked worriedly and Aaron nodded as to say he was alright.

"I have made the necessary arrangements. If you are well, then we should be on our way, as you instructed." Sean added as he brought over the tea made by the old doctor.

"I feel dizzy, I doubt I can go so far without a rest. You should rest too. Have the old man let us stay just the day of tomorrow and then we shall be on our way before the sunset."

Sean was confused with his master's new command but couldn't help but agree that he needed rest to recover from his wounds completely.

"Yes, Sire".

Sean then walked out to meet the old man at the door.

"My master wishes to stay the night and leave before the sun. He's willing to offer some gold pieces as he needs rest to recover." Sean pleaded with the man and he agreed to let them stay.

Sean was offered a room next to Aaron's and felt relieved when he lay down for his first true rest in a very long while as he drifted to sleep.
