Mr Manchester sighed frustrated as he punched his office desk. He felt so dumb, so stupid to ever trust that man. Now his life was at stake, his family, his job. He was so confused, what was he going to do, how was he going to get out of this trouble.
He was interrupted by a noise outside his office. As he picked up the landline to call Julia, he heard the man's voice and his hand froze in mid air.
"No, it couldn't be" he murmured frightened. Just then his phone rang.
"Yes?" He answered shakily
"Sir, a man outside wants to see you. We've told him you're not expecting anyone and will not like to be disturbed but he insisted and is causing so much trouble out here" his secretary said
"Julia don't let him into my office, send him away, do something, call security"he said, slamming the phone on his desk.
After some minutes, the noise quietened down. Mr Manchester began to arrange his desk, shuffling papers into his briefcase hurriedly. He opened the door, peeped, and when he didn't see anyone, he locked the door to his office.
As he came out of the building, he froze in shock. The man was out there waiting for him. As the man saw him, he stood to run towards him but security held him back. Mr Manchester ran to his car, fumbling for his keys.
"You can't run forever. You have to tell them what you did or I would, you can't destroy my life and expect to live yours peacefully. Confess Manchester" he screamed in anger.
Mr Manchester found the key in his shirt pocket and got into his car.
"Tell them what you did Manchester. Tell them i'm innocent" the man shouted as he zoomed off.
"Damn, damn, damn" Mr Manchester said as he banged his steering angrily. The man has left him no choice. He has to end him, he can't risk his business crumbling or his son finding out.
His wife was shattered already, fucking traumatized. He'll be dead if they ever found out. He has to kill him or he'll be a goner too.
"You just have to do something, anything at all" Lily said as she folded her hands.
"What would you have me do?" Miles replied softly as he turned towards her.
She sighed and sat down on his bed. She looked around and smirked. This was the first time she was in his room and it was like she has been there all her life. Maybe it's because of the familiar scent or his presence, whichever it was, it was definitely calming.
"Why doesn't he want her to go?" She asked softly this time "she's awake now, at least he can clear his guilt if that's what the problem was. But I doubt he even cares, he's just doing it to traumatize her" she scoffed
"Lily" Miles drawled "he's a good guy and my friend"
"Of course he is. A good guy that bullys the hell out of Tasha?, a good guy who was the reason she's in this situation?, of course he's a fucking good guy" She shouted angrily.
"Chill mate" Miles whispered as he sat close to her.
"You aren't any better too. You bullied her" she whispered as she looked at him
"I know and I'm deeply sorry bae, I promise to apologise to her, not like it'll change anything, but I'll do it. For your sake" Miles murmured as he kissed her cheek.
"You happy?", he asked, eyes locked with hers.
And Lily forgot every single thing. Damnn, if a guy could be so pretty, he was the real definition. Up close, he looked like a Greek god, so sweet and caring and everything she has ever dreamed of.
"Where have you been all my life" he said rhetorically as he cradled her face in his palm. Her eyes was like the sea, so calm, soothing and beautiful. It was as if the sky was in her eyes, and when she blinks and widen them, he felt himself falling deep into them.
"Lily" he called, her name was like a song on his lips.
"I'm falling so hard for you, and I don't know what to do"
"Then don't do anything" she whispered as he kissed her neck.
He trailed his fingers through her hair, her lips, her cheek. She was so soft and smelled of strawberries. Without thinking he kissed her. A slow soft kiss, he felt her gasp and thought she was going to pull away, but her hands came up around his neck and he deepened the kiss.
This was their first kiss, Lily realized, as butterflies fluttered in her belly.
"You can't tell the press" Mr Manchester said firmly at the man sitting in front of him.
"Why?" The man asked vehemently
"Of course you know why" Mr Manchester said between gritted teeth "it'll destroy my business, my family. My son would kill me and my wife?, she's traumatized enough"
"And me?, it has destroyed mine already. I foolishly accepted to take the blame for something I didn't do cause of money" he said shaking his head "all cause I needed the money" he added shouting.
"You're in my office, do not shout. People can hear" Mr Manchester said.
"I don't care, you hear me?, I don't give a fuck. Like I said, you have to tell the press or I'll do it myself " The man said and stood up to leave.
As he stood up, Mr Manchester brought out a gun from his drawer but he wasn't quick enough. As he raised his head up, with the gun clutched tightly in his hands, he was so surprised to find Mr Adele pointing a gun at him. The gun in his hand fell out of fear.
"You're not smart enough. This is your last warning" He warned menacingly, dropped a bundle of money on the table and left.
"Christ" Mr Manchester muttered still shocked. What has he gotten himself into?. He picked up the bundle of money and tore it into shreds, groaning loudly. He put his hands on his head still dazed. He was in for so much trouble.
