Chapter 39 - Nullified

Borderline

Aslan arrived at the borderline with his Shadows. With a smile, he said,

"Let the show begin."

On one side stood Aslan and his Shadows. On the other — countless monsters and beasts.

Aslan and his Shadows charged swiftly toward them.

---

Beta stepped forward and raised his hand. With one swift chant, he cast a fire spell — "Infernal Fire!"

All the beasts were burned to ash in the flames.

Alpha, with his aura sword, tore a beast in half — slicing and slashing through monsters as he charged forward.

Delta, off to the side, was panting and trembling.

Omega, watching him, teased,

"Told you not to come, crybaby."

Delta snapped back, face red.

"You're the crybaby!"

Meanwhile, Gamma's strings flew through the air — sharp as razors, tearing monsters into pieces with brutal precision.

Alpha blinked.

"You're seriously merciless."

Gamma smirked.

"Says the guy who just split a beast in half from head to toe."

Beta cut in, rolling his eyes.

"Forget these two— look at Boss."

At the center of the chaos — Aslan moved without fear.

In mere seconds, he cut down beast after beast, his blade flashing like lightning.

He took one step forward, raised his sword—

Aslan shouted:

"Zero Cut!"

All the beasts in front of him fell, sliced apart by invisible air pressure cuts.

"Whoa…"

"I've never seen that type of technique before in my whole life…"

"I didn't know Boss was that powerful."

"Wait… didn't Boss pick up swordsmanship just a week ago?"

"What a monster."

Aslan casually stuck his pinky in his ear and muttered—

"Someone's talking about me…"

---

The moment Aslan whispered, "Moon Cut,"

— time seemed to slow down.

He dashed forward, slicing through the monsters one after another.

A clean cut to one's neck, a sharp slash across another's stomach, then a strike to the legs of the next.

In just moments, Aslan had cut down more than twenty monsters.

And the moment he stopped—

they all collapsed behind him.

> Thud. Thud. Thud.

"What the… just happened?"

Another gasped.

"Did Boss really just take down twenty-five monsters… in a single breath?"

Aslan lowered his sword, exhaling quietly.

But before he could relax—

"Boss! Behind you!"

Aslan turned sharply.

---

A huge monster jumped out from a hidden spot, its jaws wide open — too close for Aslan to move away.

But just as its claws reached him—

FWOOSH!

A burst of fire shot out from Aslan's hand, hitting the monster. It screamed and ran back into the forest.

Aslan blinked.

"…Huh."

Then muttered to himself:

> "Thank God…"

> "I started practicing magic along with swordsmanship last week… but I suck at it."

> "Three days ago, I accidentally burned half the palace garden…"

> "Lucian scolded me so bad, I almost offered to replant everything myself."

> "But hey… even my out-of-control magic came in handy."

---

Aslan and his Shadows had arrived at the forbidden area.

This was the place Peter had spoken about.

Aslan gave Beta a nod.

"Yes, Boss."

Beta cast a spell, causing all the dirt to rise.

All around them were broken magic circles.

Aslan summoned the magic circles.

"Sever all threads. Nullify the weave."

Dark purple light began to spread. The air shimmered.

Dust lifted all around them. A tornado of wind whirled in every direction.

They were lifted off the ground, barely keeping themselves steady.

Everything began to crack — the ground, the air, the magic circles.

Sharp cracking sounds echoed.

They covered their ears.

Slowly, the magic circles shattered completely and turned into black dust, fading into the air.

Silence fell across the land.

Everything was back to normal.
