Wednesday morning.
At the scheduled time, Gu Yanjing woke up.
He opened his eyes and first looked at the person sleeping in his arms.
When holding her, Qiao Yuxian would sleep peacefully throughout the night, only occasionally moving her leg, or arm.
But once he let her go, she would demonstrate what it means to monopolize the bed as if she were the sole survivor.
Gu Yanjing watched her obediently drooping eyelashes and gently brushed aside the strands of hair on her forehead.
Qiao Yuxian's eyelashes fluttered slightly.
Gu Yanjing kissed her on the cheek and was about to pull his arm out from under her neck when she opened her eyes.
She gazed at him drowsily, then closed her eyes again, holding him even tighter.
Gu Yanjing stopped moving.
Qiao Yuxian's arm lay across him, her face nuzzling his shoulder. After a while, her voice mumbled: "Gu Yanjing."
"Mm."
"Don't go running," Qiao Yuxian said, "Stay with me and sleep a little longer."
