"Gurgle——" An untimely sound emitted from Ye Jing's stomach.
Starving.
"Can I eat it?" Ye Jing looked up at Lin Li, but her gaze remained fixed on the chocolate as she spoke.
"Little cat, you can eat a cheese hamburger." Lin Li nodded.
Ye Jing didn't get the joke, but she only knew Lin Li nodded.
Slightly trembling fingers hooked the edge of the mask, hesitating for a moment before finally pulling it down.
Ye Jing's features indeed had a touch of maturity, with traces of former beauty in her brows and eyes, but several hideous scars ruined all that, like ugly centipedes crawling across her face.
Her lips were chapped. Clearly, she should be ravenous, but she restrained herself, slowly tore open the package, and took a careful little bite of the chocolate. As it melted on her tongue, her eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a faint smile.
Unfortunately, the scars twisted grotesquely with the movement of her facial muscles, making them even more glaring.
