Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Is the Love Rival Moving In?

"Auntie, don't be angry." Eleanor Spencer hurried over to help Sophie Nye calm down, gently and obediently, then chided Aurelia Shaw, "Aurelia, why are you making Auntie so upset? With the way you spend money, even a large family business isn't enough for you to squander alone."

Aurelia looked at her, sneering coldly. Although she was seated on the sofa, appearing half a head shorter, she made Eleanor feel as if she was prostrated at Aurelia's feet.

"Is that so?" Aurelia slowly opened her lips and said, "I've always spent money like this, never more, only less. The Shaw Family hasn't seen any downfall because of me, and business is still booming, isn't it?"

"Moreover, Mason hasn't said anything, so what are you so anxious about?"

In this life, she had no intention of continuing this marriage. The people she tried to please in her past life won't receive her humility and appeasement in this life, nor would she show them a good face.

She was also a proud and domineering person, but in her past life, she loved Mason so humbly that she hid her pride and domineering nature in this family.

"Someone like you doesn't deserve Mason!" Eleanor pointed at her as if she had committed a grave crime.

"Someone like me?" Aurelia echoed her words. Her eyes shimmered with cunning and harshness, "If I'm unworthy, then are you worthy?"

Eleanor, seeing the indistinct smile on Aurelia's lips, suddenly had a bad premonition.

How did this foolish woman suddenly become so imposing? An illusion, it must be her illusion!

"The night before last, I saw you with a man coming out of Glamour bar and then going to a hotel together..." Aurelia said, her smile deepening at the corner of her mouth, "I later thought about it, no wonder that guy looked familiar; isn't he the director of the TV series you're currently filming? You two seemed quite close, so I didn't dare to interrupt."

"You... you need evidence for your accusations, don't just recklessly slander me!" Noticing the suspicious look from Sophie Nye, Eleanor became furious and shouted loudly.

She handled it very cleanly, there should be no evidence left behind.

"What a coincidence, the owner of Glamour bar is a friend of mine. I can call him and ask if the surveillance footage from that time is still available; maybe it could become big news," Aurelia said slowly, pretending to reach for her phone.

Before she could touch the phone, Eleanor's anxious shout suddenly rang out:

"Yes! I like Mason!"

Huh? Aurelia frowned, was she out of her mind? What is this drama now?

"But what's wrong with loving someone? I just want to quietly stay by Mason's side, I never intended to take him away from you. As long as I can watch him, I'm satisfied. Do you have to force me like this?" Eleanor, with tears in her eyes, spoke each word with grievance and accusation.

Pitiful act?

Aurelia sneered inwardly. No wonder this pitiful little Lillian is such a superb actress; she managed to win Best Actress in her past life through her acting. Her acting is drawn from life; if she can perform so well in life, then she'll act even better in films.

"Bang!" A loud noise erupted.

Sophie Nye slammed the table forcefully and shouted, "Enough! Discuss this when Mason comes back."

She dialed Mason's phone, but the ringtone rang outside the door.

Looking up, she saw Mason pushing the door open and walking in, holding the ringing phone in his hand. Seeing the caller ID, he frowned slightly.

"Mason!"

Without even answering the phone, a familiar voice preemptively sounded on the other end.

Sophie Nye warmly beckoned Mason to come over.

"You came back just in time, quickly! Have the servants prepare a room; I'm planning to let Isabel Bennett stay here for a while."

Mason frowned, handing his bag and coat to the servant, his tone cold and indifferent, "I don't agree."

"Why don't you agree?" Sophie Nye raised her voice sharply, "Aurelia's leg is injured now, and some things the servants can't take care of. Having another woman in the house could also mean more care for you. I've discussed this with Isabel, and she agrees to move in. Have the servants prepare a room, she's staying here for this month!"

Care?

Does this care include the bedroom matters?

Before Aurelia married Mason, Sophie Nye's preferred daughter-in-law was Eleanor. Eleanor was the daughter of her good friend, who often stayed at their house as a child and grew up with Mason as childhood friends.

The most important thing is, Eleanor is gentle and listens to everything she says, while Miss Aurelia has been spoiled for so long that some things couldn't be ordered around.

It's not that Aurelia couldn't be ordered around; rather, Sophie simply found Aurelia displeasing and thought nothing went smoothly.

Mason remained unmoved, loosened his tie, and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt. His elegance and nobility seemed to have added a touch of wildness, "There's nothing I need her to take care of, even if there were..."

Suddenly, he paused eerily for a moment before continuing, "Aurelia can take care of it for me."

"What can she help you with as a cripple?" Sophie Nye blurted out, realizing her words were too blunt. She hastily covered it up and said to Aurelia, "Don't blame mother for her harsh words. When Mason was young, I failed to care for him. He's lacked motherly love since childhood. I feel very guilty. I just hope to find an opportunity to make it up to him. You can understand a mother's heart, can't you?"

What kind of situation is this?

Your mother-in-law proactively seeks a mistress for your husband, and you, as the rightful wife, are supposed to agree?

In her past life, how blind was I to treat such a person as my real mother? Once, when Sophie had a contagious illness, even the servants of the Nightshade Family were unwilling to take care of her. Only she stayed by Sophie's bedside day and night, personally feeding her medicine and meals, until Sophie's condition improved, and she returned to her room to rest shakily.

Oh right, when Sophie woke up and saw Eleanor sitting by her bedside, looking exhausted, she assumed it was Eleanor who took care of her all this time. Hearing the servant saying she was asleep in her room, without asking for a reason, she coldly interrupted the remaining words of the servant.

It was Eleanor again.

In this life, without experiencing those things, her so-called good mother-in-law brought the "mistress" to her doorstep. It seems one cannot be too kind to her, else she'll only ask for more, wanting more goodness.

Before Aurelia could speak, a cold, mocking voice rang out:

"Do you want her to take care of me or take care of me in bed?"

Mason's thin lips curled into a mocking smile, and his deep eyes, like the cold wind of a bitter winter month, chilled a person's bones.
