HUNTER ADMINISTRATION BUREAU – LOBBY, SHORTLY AFTER

Arvan walks deeper into the Bureau after finishing his paperwork. Fluorescent lights flicker faintly above, casting sterile glows on tired faces. The air hums with the buzz of scanners and the low murmur of people waiting. A large LED screen flashes current dungeon alerts, some marked in red — "C-RANK BREACH IN KOLKATA", "SS-RANK INACTIVE, UNDER OBSERVATION".

ARVAN

"I used to think the world was too big for someone like me. Now, it feels like it's breaking at the seams… and somehow, I'm caught in the tear."

As Arvan was deep in thoughts and he couldn't see the woman coming in front and bumps into her spilling her coffee slightly. She gives him a dry look.

Arvans eyes lingers to her hunter bureau ID

Name: Ira Sen

Role: A-Rank Strategist & Dungeon Analyst at the Bureau

IRA:"Watch it, rookie. The only thing worse than being weak in this world is being careless."

ARVAN (awkwardly bowing):

"S-sorry, ma'am…"

She narrows her eyes at him, something unsettling flickers in her gaze — a brief pause.

IRA:"…You're not on the registry of recent transfers. Which gate did you clear?"

ARVAN:"I—I haven't cleared one. I just awakened a week ago."

She gives a sharp nod and walks away. Over her shoulder, she mutters:

IRA (muttering):"Fresh meat… or old ghosts in new skin."

As Arvin joins the que a chubby guy with glasses starts talking to him

"First time, bro? I hear they give out free gear if you pass the stat test without vomiting."

ARVAN (smiles sheepishly):

"You mean people throw up?"

The chubby guy: "Dude, your bones feel like they're rewriting themselves. It's wild."

"By the way im Kavi

And you whats your name?"

ARVAN (smiles faintly)

"Arvan"

The metal walls humming softly with mana-sensitive machinery. Five padded chairs are lined up in front of a crystalline pillar — the System Interface Scanner. A bored attendant, a C-Rank hunter with a cigarette tucked behind his ear, waves people forward.

Arvan and Kavi sit side by side, knees shaking for very different reasons.

KAVI (whispering nervously):

"This is it. The big moment. My cousin awakened as an E-rank… then got bit in the butt on his first raid."

ARVAN (dryly):

"I'll keep that in mind."

An electronic voice rings through the room.

[SYSTEM SCAN INITIATING – SUBJECT: KAVI]

A gentle white light washes over Kavi. Numbers begin to materialize in front of him.

KAVI (pumping a fist):

"Yes! Still in the game, baby!"

*But then… the screen glitches.

The lights dim. Static pulses. Red glyphs flicker in the air. Everyone freezes. The name "Arvan" scrambles… replaced with something else—

Black boxes begin consuming the rest of the text. The screen shuts down completely with a piercing shriek of the scanner crystal. Lights flicker violently.

KAVI (terrified):

"D-Did you break it?!"

ARVAN (backs away slowly, whispering to himself):

"What… the hell was that…? Was that… me?"

He hears it — a familiar cruel whisper inside his mind. Velvet, mocking.

RĀVAṆA (inside Arvan's head):

"Even these pitiful machines recognize royalty. Did you really think you were the one in control, little worm?"

ARVAN (panicking internally):

"No… no, I-I just wanted a normal life… Why me?!"

RĀVAṆA:

"Because I chose you. And now, the world will burn again."

Bureau alarms blare. Security rushes in. The scan room is locked down. But the machine logs are empty—no evidence of what just happened. Just one word burned into the screen's crystalline core:

RĀVAṆA
