Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Well Done!

It was Lu Feng who betrayed the agreement with Tian Chuying, leaving her utterly humiliated in front of everyone.

Yet after a few words, it appeared Lu Feng was upright and faultless, while Tian Chuying was the villain.

Tian Chuying felt something was amiss, but couldn't pinpoint the issue.

Facing Lu Feng's radiant good looks, the grievances in her heart were gradually soothed, and she nodded, saying, "It's my sister who's too troublesome; this isn't your fault. But why did you say we have no relationship? Last night you said we could be together; have you forgotten that?"

Last night, Tian Chuying used five buckets of water to clean herself thoroughly, then dressed up before sneaking off to find Lu Feng.

Reincarnated Tian Chuying was bold and passionate.

Lu Feng had seen gentle, soft, fierce, and beautiful, but it was his first time seeing someone so uninhibited, and he was somewhat moved.

"I haven't forgotten. But we haven't started yet; in front of so many people, I have to clarify things and save some face for your sister."

Tian Chuying: "Setting those things aside, are we a couple or not?"

Lu Feng was a bit troubled, "Chuying, I haven't even told my mom about this yet; it's deceitful, I have to discuss it with her and get past that hurdle first."

Tian Chuying's face darkened, "You don't want to take responsibility for me?"

Last night they were quite intimate.

Lu Feng: "That's not what I meant…"

Not far away, Tian Xiang glanced coldly at the two.

It seemed that the fool Tian Chuying had no intention to confront the scumbag; she was totally captivated!

One willing to fight, the other willing to suffer.

Fine, the two of you shall be locked in then.

Tian Xiang rolled her eyes and left.

Hu Honglian, who had been kept in the lobby, hurriedly came in to find her daughter after hearing she was safe, and the two met in the corridor.

"Xiangxiang, dear daughter, how are you, are you okay?"

Hu Honglian pinched her daughter's shoulders and looked her over.

Tian Xiang shook her head, "Mom, I'm fine."

The mother and daughter went to the lobby outside, sat in the waiting area, and Hu Honglian took out a wrapped lunchbox, while Tian Xiang quickly shared the situation with her.

"You slapped Lu Feng!"

Hu Honglian was a bit shocked; she was so fierce, much like her younger days.

Tian Xiang didn't know how to deal with the scumbag issue.

In short…

"Mom, Lu Feng is a hypocrite, he's not a good person, he deserves it."

Hu Honglian nodded, "Good hit!"

Her daughter was a reasonable person; even if she scolded him, there was adequate reason, let alone hitting someone.

Hu Honglian took out a spoon, "You must be starving, eat first, then we'll head out."

Approaching one o'clock, Tian Xiang was indeed hungry.

The braised pork with preserved vegetables from the Bridgehead Restaurant on Sanli Lane was tender but not greasy, paired with white rice, it was fragrant upon entrance.

Tian Xiang sat on the stool to eat, and Hu Honglian proudly said to the two little girls at the reception: "I told you my girl wouldn't hit anyone for no reason, they wouldn't pursue responsibility; surely they aren't in the right..."

Earlier, when coming in to find her daughter, Hu Honglian had pulled her "Employee of the Month" badge to show them, yet they wouldn't let her in, making it look as if her daughter had committed some grave mistake, which made Hu Honglian anxious enough to jump.

Now, everything was fine, nothing wrong, haha…

The two girls smiled awkwardly, unable to hold back their cricket-like reactions inside.

How was it hitting for no reason?

They hadn't said anything when she came in, yet she already delivered a big slap.

Fortunately, Lu Feng was a good person, clarified the matter and didn't pursue it, otherwise, it wouldn't be concluded so easily.

Lu Feng was popular for frequently publishing poems and articles in the Red Star Daily; many young girls on Red Fifth Street knew him.

Hu Honglian didn't know the two girls were rolling their eyes at her inside, feeling smug when they didn't speak up.

Tian Xiang noticed it, "Mom, come over here."

"Ah."

Hu Honglian wanted to accompany her daughter, only to turn around and unexpectedly bump into Lu Feng, who had come to the lobby.

The twenty-two-year-old young man had a neatly parted hairstyle, wore glasses, appeared refined, with a shirt matching green military pants, standing about six-foot-one, clean and refreshing, very likable to mothers-in-law.

Hu Honglian looked more and more regretful.

Granny Liu could introduce such a good lad to her daughter, after two years of sewing clothes, it wasn't in vain.

But…

Hu Honglian gritted her teeth, growing ever more resentful towards Tian Chuying's cheap low hoof.

Luckily, with the ruckus from her daughter, Tian Chuying's dream of marrying into the Lu Family was shattered; it's uncertain whose house such a good son-in-law would go to.

Hu Honglian, unaware that Lu Feng was a womanizing Chen Shimei, only thought he was perfect, like radiating golden light.

Such a shame.

Hu Honglian sighed, knowing it was not meant to be, didn't dwell too much on it, yet Lu Feng took the initiative to come over and called out to her.

"Auntie, you're Tian Xiang's mother, aren't you?"

"Ah! How do you know?"

Hu Honglian had seen Lu Feng once, but didn't reveal herself, just peeked.

Lu Feng smiled: "You two resemble each other, especially the eyes." Big, bright, with long, curly lashes.

Hu Honglian crossed her arms, "Yes, so what?"

Her daughter had just hit this person, so she harbored some hostility towards him.

Lu Feng bowed to Hu Honglian, "Auntie, yesterday's events caused a negative impact on you and hurt both you and Tian Xiang. I solemnly apologize to you here."

An apology!

Hu Honglian was startled; she expected this person to complain about her daughter hitting him. Instead, he had come to apologize.

This…

Hu Honglian: "Are you serious?"

Lu Feng smiled, "Certainly. Although I only found out afterward, the harm was done, and as one of those involved, not perceiving the issue timely, I share collective responsibility. Auntie, if there's any need you have, please feel free to reach out to me. If possible, I'll do my utmost to compensate."

Compensate!

Woah, what words.

Hu Honglian felt overjoyed.

Lu Feng was indeed quite a good person!

It seemed yesterday's events weren't his fault; it was all Tian Chuying deceiving everyone completely.

"Oh dear, it turns out it was all a misunderstanding, since everyone was deceived, why not…"

Why not reconsider!

Even a small apology made Hu Honglian reconsider.

Fortunately, she didn't voice her words. Eating Tian Xiang sensed something was off, turned to look, then startled, hastily put down the spoon and rushed over.

"Mom, what are you saying to him!"

Tian Xiang was quite frightened.

The top-notch antagonist facing the protagonist, she feared her mom might get slapped by the scumbag.

Hu Honglian chuckled, "Nothing. Xiao Lu is very sensible, we just chatted casually."

Despite having thoughts for reconsideration, she decided to first inquire her daughter's opinion, as it'd better proceed with her consent.

She had been impulsive earlier and, fortunately, got interrupted by her daughter before finishing.

Hu Honglian smiled tenderly, her affectionate gaze flitting between Tian Xiang and Lu Feng.

Being mother and daughter, Tian Xiang understood well, nearly jumping up in shock, angrily shouting at the scumbag, "What are you running over to bother my mom for? Get lost, now!"
