"Lawrence, didn't we agree to have lunch together? How come you came alone without calling me?" Edward Foster walked over, pretending not to see Lucas Harlow, and slightly bent over with a smile, speaking to Lawrence Winters.
Lawrence Winters put his hand down, his lips twitching slightly, and said with a smile, "Mr. Foster, didn't you say over the phone that you forgot? Since you forgot, it means it's not important. You're so busy; how could I waste your time?"
Lawrence Winters used "you" in a very polite yet distant way.
Edward Foster felt uncomfortable hearing this, but with Lucas Harlow watching, he couldn't lose face.
He reluctantly coughed, turned to sit at their table, and pretended he had just seen Lucas Harlow, laughing, "So you were having a meal with Lucas! I understand, it's a working lunch. You're Lucas's agent, it's only proper! Completely proper!"
As if her lunch with Lucas Harlow was entirely work-related.
