The lion strode forward with a fierce look, leaving no time for Ke Lian to think. He quickly pulled 2569 to a safe position, only to find that the lion did not lie back down as before. Instead, it curiously walked over, approaching Ke Lian and 2569 under the intense gaze of everyone present.
The lion's mane was tangled and somewhat messy, with bits of dirt and dry branches intertwined in it. Yet, this did not diminish the oppressive aura of the lion. As it approached, even someone as composed as Ke Lian couldn't help but hold his breath, fearing that his breathing might disturb the lion and provoke an attack.
Ke Lian felt as though his heartbeat was loud enough for the lion to hear. However, the lion merely sniffed him briefly, then seemed to snort disdainfully and turned to catch a whiff of 2569.
2569 had an ever-present light floral scent beloved by Du Xixi, which Ke Lian incorporated during 2569's modification to appeal to Du Xixi's preferences.
