Nathaniel Jones, Chris Paul's grandfather, was a legendary figure in the small town of Winston-Salem.
Whenever the residents of Winston-Salem had car troubles, they would go to "Mr. Jones" gas station for help.
In Winston-Salem, everyone respected "Mr. Jones."
He was kind, diligent, and helpful, working hard every day.
"My grandfather taught me that if you want to harvest, you must create through your own hands."
Until November 15, 2002...
The day before, accompanied by his grandfather, Paul attended a Wake Forest University game...and suddenly received the tragic news from his brother CJ on the 15th.
That day, five young men around Paul's age broke into the gas station to rob, kidnapping and beating "Mr. Jones."
To prevent him from calling for help, in the final moments of "Mr. Jones'" life, the five young men subjected him to cruel and inhumane torture.
And so, "Mr. Jones'" life ended at the age of 61.
