Roy headed to the Demon Land.
On the way, she encountered Soto, barely clinging to life. Its wounds were still festering, with bones exposed beneath its forelimbs and belly. Its back was covered with marks of knife cuts and burns, though it was unclear who was responsible.
The catastrophe had thrown the world into chaos, laws and morals teetering on the brink, with madness spreading unchecked.
Roy stroked Soto's head and asked, "Is the castle on the mountain gone?"
Soto whimpered, trying to nuzzle against her palm. It seemed that the mountain had collapsed, and it left the ruined castle, seeking the scent of its master. Now finally reunited, the strength that sustained it vanished, and its emaciated body lay against the ground, unable to even lift its head.
Roy embraced Soto's neck, gently rubbing the scales near its eyes.
