Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Wizard Path Selection

"Next."

The people in front of the Red robed Wizard were now few and far between.

Behind Lor, the number of people gradually increased, roughly counting around twenty or so.

Now, the only ones who hadn't been tested yet were Baron Radef's family, as well as the knights and militiamen under his command.

The next to be tested was precisely Baron Ladell, who trembled as he placed his hand on the Crystal Ball.

"Phew."

Seeing no reaction from the Crystal Ball, he instantly felt relieved.

He was quite content with his current life and naturally had no desire to become a Wizard.

"Next." The Red robed Wizard announced expressionlessly.

The last few people stepped forward one by one and then left.

Once all the tests were completed, there was no one with Meditation Talent to be found.

"Alright, let them all disperse." The Red robed Wizard put away the Crystal Ball and said to Baron Drave.

He felt slightly regretful in his heart, among those with detected Spiritual Power talent, apart from the little fellow who came voluntarily, the others only reached level three at most.

"Yes, Master Wizard."

The Baron first bent down with difficulty to bow to the Red robed Wizard, then turned to the townsfolk who had completed the test but dared not go home and said:

"You may go back to your business; there's nothing more for you here."

"Yes, my Lord Baron."

"Thank you, Lord Baron."

"Wonderful, finally, we can return home."

"Let's head back..."

...

The townsfolk cheered and dispersed joyfully.

"Master Wizard, do you have any further instructions?" After dismissing the townsfolk, Drave turned back and asked respectfully.

"Every ten years in the future, there will be Wizard Apprentices coming to your place for talent testing."

The Red robed Wizard looked at Drave and said indifferently, "When they find you, you and your family must ensure that the children born in the town within the decade are all tested."

"Yes, my Lord, I will incorporate this matter into the family precepts when I return." Drave nodded repeatedly.

"Alright, as long as you remember it." The Red robed Wizard waved his hand, "You may leave now."

"Yes, sir." Drave bowed respectfully once again before leaving with the others.

In the militia ranks, Chris, who was being carried away, looked back deeply at Lor, and Lor returned the gaze with a smile.

"My name is Mala Dion, you may call me Wizard Mala."

The Red robed Wizard turned around and introduced himself, then turned his gaze to Lor and said, "Tell me your name."

"Wizard Mala, my name is Lor." Lor quickly replied.

"I'll remember it."

Mala nodded and ignored the expectant or fearful looks from others, gesturing to the sky.

"Whoosh—"

A completely black vessel, resembling a ship and about fifty meters long and thirty-five meters wide, broke through the clouds and quickly descended.

Its descent speed suddenly slowed when it was only ten meters above the ground and it gradually landed.

"Medium-sized Demon Patterned Black Iron Spaceship."

Lor examined the spaceship which was landing slowly, a thrill struck him, "Even in this era, this thing is quite valuable; at least an ordinary Fourth Ring Wizard definitely cannot afford it."

This type of Demon Patterned Black Iron Spaceship, although entirely obsolete in the future, was still considered a rather good collectible.

For now, its advantages were still plentiful.

Its speed was not slow among ships of the same size, it had a high load capacity, and its defense was undeniably the strongest among ships of similar volume.

Once the spaceship's Magic Patterns were activated, a Fourth Ring Wizard definitely couldn't break the shield with just a few casual spells.

"Click—"

As soon as the spaceship landed, the door on its side automatically opened, revealing a hall filled with chairs when looked at from outside.

Inside the hall, people were sitting in twos and threes, some dressed in fine clothing of nobility, others in tattered clothes.

Noticing the spaceship door opening, those people stood up one after another, bowing towards Mala outside the door, "Wizard Mala."

Mala gave them an indifferent glance, without responding, and while walking towards the inside of the ship, said, "Follow me."

"Yes." Lor and the others promptly followed him inside.

"Click—"

After everyone entered the hall, the spaceship door closed automatically.

Soon, Lor felt his body sink slightly, clearly, the spaceship had already taken off.

"Bulanya, arrange accommodation for them." Mala pointed to the people beside Lor and instructed a young man in luxurious clothes.

"Yes, mentor." Bulanya hastily replied.

Mala nodded and beckoned to Lor, "Lor, follow me."

His words finished, he headed directly toward a staircase on the left side of the hall.

Ignoring the curious and envious glances in the hall, Lor followed Mala up to the second floor, turned a few corners, and was finally led into a small room filled with parchment scrolls.

Mala approached a bookshelf, took a parchment scroll, and handed it to Lor, saying:

"Lor, you possess a level five Meditation Talent, according to the instructions of the Wizard High Council, all with level five Meditation Talent can freely choose a Faction to join."

"This parchment contains records of all current Wizard Factions, you may choose one, and I will send you to the corresponding Wizard Tower."

"Alright, Wizard Mala."

Lor took the parchment, feeling slightly surprised.

Unexpectedly, from this era, Wizard Apprentices could choose their factions.

It seemed he was worried for nothing; even if Faith Wizards came, it would be no problem.

"No, wait." Lor blinked, replaying Wizard Mala's words in his mind, "It seems he said only level five talent Wizard Apprentices have this privilege."

"Fine, it's still not that open-minded now, but it doesn't concern me."

A slight curve appeared on Lor's lips, quickly disappearing again, as he began to carefully peruse the parchment.

The entire parchment had ten pages, and just the first page alone listed over a dozen Wizard Factions, like Sharp Metal, Fire Wood, Water Thunder, or single elements like Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth, and so on.

Under each faction, there was a brief introduction of its advantages; as for the disadvantages, not a word was mentioned.

In Lor's view, these factions were all part of a larger category, the Elemental Faction, which could be compatible with each other, just with different directions in deep development.

The following two pages also documented only the major category of Elemental Mage.

Continuing further, what was documented became another major category, the Bloodline Wizard category.

Seeing Lor still flipping through, Mala casually remarked:

"Bloodline Wizards often turn themselves into something neither human nor ghost, and some even go insane during experiments or battles, suddenly going berserk and causing harm to themselves and others."

As Lor seemed fairly agreeable, he didn't mind giving a reminder or two.

Lor blinked, looking up at Mala with eyes full of agreement.

He definitely wouldn't choose to become a Bloodline Wizard, as this was no longer a game for him.

Turning himself into something neither human nor ghost, he couldn't endure that.

"Don't look at me, read the book, hurry up and make a selection so I can give you the Meditation Technique." Mala said.

"Alright, Wizard Mala." Lor responded, lowering his head again to pretend to choose.

In reality, he had long since decided on the faction he wanted to choose, which was the combination of Fire and Earth Elements.

Following this direction into the micro-domain, exploring all the way, tapping into the most basic string of matter, it would give rise to an extremely terrifying Wizard System, the Spatial Mage.

The only difficulty in choosing this system was that the founder of the Space Faction hadn't been born yet, so Lor had to develop everything himself, but with the support of the charge points, it wasn't a big problem.

In the future, this system would manifest a Seventh Ring Great Witchcraft hated by all gods and wizards alike.

"Hmm, the Seventh Ring Great Witchcraft and such are far from me, my primary goal is to develop in the micro direction up to the Fourth Ring, to become a Spatial Mage."

Lor took a deep breath, discarding unrealistic thoughts, flipping through for another two minutes before finally raising his head and saying:

"Wizard Mala, I want to join the Fire and Earth Wizard Faction."
