Just as Flora was about to speak, her phone rang. She glanced at it; it was her friend Harper calling, so she answered, "Hello."
"Did you go home today?"
"How do you know I went back?"
"Your mom had surgery. You definitely came back, right? We haven't gathered for a while, how about getting together tonight?"
Feeling distressed, Flora agreed and arranged to meet that evening.
