"Yes, Ethan, even if it's for us, you can't let him go down the wrong path." Charlotte looked pitifully at Ethan Seymour.
Ethan Seymour kept a stern face and didn't speak.
"James, it's all my fault." Ophelia Wilson said softly, feeling guilty.
"Ophelia, let me take you home." Even at this moment, James Reed maintained his gentlemanly demeanor.
"I can go home by myself." Ophelia hurriedly said, then spoke to Ethan Seymour and Charlotte Reed, "Uncle Seymour, Auntie, I'm leaving now."
"Oh dear, we were supposed to have dinner together tonight. Ophelia, I'm really sorry." Charlotte said apologetically.
"No, it's me who should apologize." After exchanging a few polite words with Charlotte, James took Ophelia out the door.
Once outside, Ophelia lowered her voice and said, "James, I said that on purpose. Do you think I'm being malicious?"
James looked at Ophelia in surprise, "On purpose?"
