"Because..." Sophie Wilson drew out her voice, clearly feeling the slight tension in Charles Seymour's muscles.
If she weren't so familiar with him, she would surely have missed this subtle change.
Sophie blinked mischievously at him and spoke the answer that made his heart leap: "You once did this."
As soon as Sophie spoke, Charles was filled with confusion, mixing bewilderment with a sense of relief.
"What are you talking about?" Charles was sure he hadn't done anything to imprison Sophie.
"Let me tell you a secret, shall I?" Sophie was smiling, her smile still beautiful, but it was as mysterious as if it hid a big secret behind it, just waiting to be unveiled.
Charles's Adam's apple bobbed nervously up and down, and he nodded slightly.
Whatever it was, he wanted to hear it.
"The secret is, you imprisoned me for ten whole years, doing experiments on me continuously, and in the end..."
