The city skyline glows under a stormy sky. Inside a dimly lit warehouse, masked operatives transfer canisters marked with biohazard symbols. One operative checks a timer on his phone: "T-MINUS 12 HOURS."
INT. FBI FIELD OFFICE – NIGHT
Benson, Prentiss, and local law enforcement gather around a digital map of Chicago.
BENSON:
We have credible intel: The Broker's network is planning a mass poisoning.
PRENTISS:
Target?
BENSON:
The city's water supply.
ACT ONE
INT. BAU BRIEFING ROOM – MORNING
The team assembles via video conference. Garcia displays intercepted messages and blueprints of the water treatment plant.
GARCIA:
They're using a new hallucinogenic compound—much more potent than scopolamine.
ROSSI:
If it gets into the water, the whole city could be incapacitated.
REID:
The symptoms will mimic psychosis—mass panic, violence, chaos.
JJ:
We have less than twelve hours to stop this.
BENSON:
We coordinate with Homeland Security and local PD. No mistakes.
ACT TWO
INT. CHICAGO WATER TREATMENT PLANT – DAY
Benson, Morgan, and SWAT sweep the perimeter. Reid and Maeve, in hazmat suits, analyze the filtration systems.
REID:
The delivery system is sophisticated—timed release, remote activation.
MAEVE:
There's a failsafe. If we trip it, the compound disperses instantly.
MORGAN (over comms):
We've got movement—north side.
The team moves to intercept, engaging with armed operatives.
BENSON:
Secure the control room!
ACT THREE
INT. CONTROL ROOM – CONTINUOUS
Garcia hacks into the plant's security system from the mobile command center.
GARCIA:
I'm in. Shutting down remote access now.
Reid and Maeve work quickly to disarm the failsafe.
REID:
If we cut the red wire, we bypass the timer.
MAEVE:
But only if we do it together—on three.
They count down and snip the wire. The timer halts.
REID:
We're clear.
Suddenly, an alarm blares. The Broker's voice comes over the intercom:
BROKER (V.O.):
You're clever, Dr. Reid. But the city isn't safe yet.
ACT FOUR
EXT. CHICAGO – VARIOUS LOCATIONS – EVENING
Simultaneously, smaller attacks erupt across the city—schools, hospitals, even a crowded subway.
JJ (over comms):
Multiple targets. They're trying to stretch us thin.
PRENTISS:
Divide and conquer.
ROSSI:
We'll split up.
The team disperses, coordinating with local units to neutralize each threat.
Benson and Morgan stop a suspect at a children's hospital, disarming a device seconds before detonation.
BENSON:
You're not turning this city into a war zone.
ACT FIVE
INT. BAU FIELD OFFICE – NIGHT
The team regroups, exhausted but victorious.
GARCIA:
All threats neutralized.
MAEVE:
But The Broker's message was clear: he's escalating.
ROSSI:
We saved Chicago, but at what cost?
BENSON:
We keep moving. We keep fighting.
Reid glances at Maeve, who nods, resolute.
REID:
We're not giving up.
