"Could you not simply look into the future to see how I would handle things instead of… whatever this was?" Kakashi asked.
He felt that a fight to death was exaggerated. For whatever reason, Ancient One wanted to see his conviction and strength, she could have just used the time stone to see the future. What was the need of this?
And why would she even want to check his conviction. How would him killing her give an estimate of his conviction? It was as if she wanted to see if he had conviction to kill people for the greater good.
'Please, let's just hope that it would not be this. It's not like I have not killed innocent people as an Anbu for the safety of Konoha but I am tired of that life.' Kakashi thought with a sigh.
The Ancient One answered his question.
"You are from a different reality, Mr. Kakashi. I can see your future, but it changes based on your every action. You do not have a straight path. So I have to watch millions of paths that you might take. Every action you take changes the future. And I have to see hundreds of thousands of futures and then see the path that would guide you there. One discrepancy in that would change everything and would require seeing hundreds of thousands of futures again."
Kakashi listened without interrupting.
The Ancient One continued.
"I did look at your future. I saw many paths. In most of them, you would protect Earth and do much more. But If you wanted my and Kamar Taj support for your Avengers, I needed to know if you had the heart to make hard choices when the time came."
She stepped closer. Kakashi wanted to ask what these hard choices would be but he decided now was not the time.
Kakashi exhaled slowly.
"It is complicated," he said.
The Ancient One smiled gently.
"Everything related to time is. And that is why you do not mess with time."
Kakashi nodded slowly. He understood the warning. Time was not something to play with lightly.
Kakashi broke the quiet.
"You said your successor when you mentioned that he would be better than you using eye of Agomotto? Are you retiring from your position as the Sorcerer Supreme?"
The Ancient One set her tea cup down.
"Not yet, but soon. But hey, it would soon work out for you. My successor might coordinate with the Avengers and might not be as strict with rules as I am. He might help you with the future and all."
She gave a small, playful smile at the end.
Kakashi raised an eyebrow under his headband.
"At least he or she would not try to kill me for a test or a threat," he said with clear sarcasm.
The Ancient One chuckled.
"I would not be so sure of that."
She added more seriously.
"I hope you would help with my successor and the next Sorcerer Supreme. He would need you."
Kakashi gave a single nod.
The Ancient One looked at him with a more serious expression.
"I think you are ready for the future, Mr.Kakashi. You coming into this reality has changed the future by quite a bit. It has given me a lot of headaches. Some of these changes have been for the good of the universe while some for the worse. But one of them is what I would call a major change, a nexus. Something that I would like to stop."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow.
"Before I tell you this, I hope you have what it takes to change this future. And I am not talking about your strength, but whether you have the mind and heart it takes to stop it."
Kakashi met her gaze without flinching.
"Let us get on with it. What is wrong?"
The Ancient One's voice became grave.
"Our universe is going to observe an incursion soon."
Kakashi frowned. He did not know that word and he did not think that he read it in any of the books that he had read in the Kamar Taj library.
"An incursion?"
The Ancient One explained.
"An incursion happens when two universes overlap too much. If it continues, both universes will be destroyed. Our universe is currently on the path of this with another universe."
Kakashi's eyes widened in shock.
"Destroy a universe? What the fuck are you talking about?"
The words came out sharper than he intended. He rarely swore, but the idea hit him like a physical blow.
A universe, everything, everyone, every story, every life gone because two realities bumped into each other too hard. It was too big. Too impossible.
He did even know about the concept of universe until he came to this reality. It was the first time that he realised that the shinobi world was too small in the speck of things but to think that an entire universe might get destroyed was beyond his imagination.
He stared at the Ancient One, waiting for her to say it was a metaphor or a test. She did not.

So here we are to the next big change in the mcu because of Kakashi.
And since Loki has the mind stone currently, I don't think that we would be getting Vision. And with Tony not seeing Thanos entire army, he did not have a panic attack to create Ultron.
So yeah no Avengers: Age of the Ultron. But I have something better for y'all guys. I never liked Age of Ultron anyways.
