Pakkun trotted up towards Kakashi with a shining metal bone clamped in his jaw.
The bone, forged from Uru and etched with magic runes, shimmered faintly, its value was likely in the billions.
Kakashi's eyebrow twitched with amusement. 'If people knew a dog was slobbering on a fortune, they'd lose it.' He pictured SHIELD accountants fainting and Fury would have cut his other eye open if he saw a magical metal as a chew toy of a dog.
A billion-dollar bone, ruined by dog spit.
Pakkun's voice was serious, "Kakashi, I suspect Madam Gao is planning something big. Many of the pack have reported various ninjas from all over the U.S. moving toward Hell's Kitchen. I suspect all of them are under her command. She's planning something big."
Kakashi analyzed the intel and came to a conclusion with in a few seconds, 'She is trying to bait me.'
"She's baiting me, Pakkun," he replied, his voice calm. "It seems she can't wait to get back to business in Hell's Kitchen and has decided to eliminate me. And to do that, she's gathering all her men. Not only to increase the odds of killing me but also to give me a big fish to deal with. How can someone who has been eliminating her men resist when such a large force is gathering at a same place?"
Pakkun's tail flicked, "She's underestimating you. Well, I suppose people of this world really don't know the renowned Kakashi of the Sharingan, the copycat ninja."
"Well then, if she wants me, she'll get me. And this time, I'll ensure she never sees daylight again." Kakashi said remembering how she revived after he killed her during their last encounter.
'To think people have managed to revive themselves in this world without the ability of a broken dojutsu.' Kakashi thought
His mind flicked to Orochimaru, 'If Orochimaru was here, he wouldn't hesitate to rip her open and learn all her secrets to revival and technical immortality.' He shook off the thought.
With Pakkun in tow, Kakashi approached Blonsky and Creel, who were mid-spar, their fists clashing with force.
The two paused, their thoughts shifting from combat to curiosity as they noticed Pakkun and his odd bone.
Kakashi's voice was steady. "Alright, you two, this one here is Pakkun. He's the leader of my intelligence network." Pakkun wagged his tail proudly.
Creel laughed in disbelief. "And who are the others in your intelligence network? Other dogs?" He chuckled, expecting a joke.
Pakkun's voice was matter-of-fact. "That's right. Most of our intelligence network is made up of dogs throughout the continent. They all have other ninja hounds they report to, and the hounds report to me."
Creel's laughter died, his thoughts reeling. "Are you serious… all dogs in the continent? Wait, who said that?" He looked around, his eyes wide.
Pakkun tilted his head, "I said that."
Creel's jaw dropped in shock. "A talking dog?!" Blonsky's expression mirrored Creel's.
Kakashi's voice was deadpan, "I'll be conveying orders through him sometimes, and I can summon him to me. So remember to respect him and treat him well. And don't take that bone from him—he bites."
Pakkun bared his teeth slightly. The Uru bone gleamed with saliva, and Creel's thoughts twitched. 'That bone looks… expensive.'
Kakashi continued, his voice serious. "Anyways, he just reported that Hell's Kitchen has seen a rise in activity from the Hand, and one of its leaders is there."
Creel's thoughts clicked, recalling previous Kakashi briefings. "Hand? They're the ninjas like you, right? That you told us about. Just a lot weaker than you."
Kakashi nodded, his thoughts cautious. "Yes. Their leader is just a little stronger. And, well, I killed her last time, and now she's back from the dead. So their leaders are immortal."
Blonsky and Creel spoke in unison, their thoughts floored. "Immortal? Is that a thing?"
Kakashi's voice was calm, "I think so. But no one's truly immortal. Everyone has a weakness and can die."
"Wait, shouldn't we tell Fury about this? Imagine if we manage to find how to make people immortal, how many diseases we could cure." Creel said excited.
Kakashi's thoughts darkened, his voice firm. "Who do you think would get the benefit of it? The common people wouldn't see the benefits. Instead, the leaders of the world would get more power. And we don't know the method of how they gain immortality, but I'm pretty sure it's inhumane and not feasible."
Blonsky nodded. Creel's mind shifted, his idealism fading. 'Yeah, sounds like a mess.'
Kakashi's voice turned commanding. "Anyways, we'll be getting rid of them. The Hand ninjas are brainwashed and have multiple murders on their hands each. So don't hesitate to kill them."
Creel asked cautiously, "And what about the leader?"
Kakashi's eyes narrowed, "I'll take care of her. For good this time. Now suit up and Let's go."
---Scene Change---
Kakashi, Blonsky, and Creel positioned themselves outside an abandoned warehouse.
Blonsky, in his human form, crouched low. Creel, on the opposite side, had absorbed the properties of concrete, his skin rough and gray.
Kakashi's voice crackled through their comms, "Are you both in position?"
"Yes, sir," Blonsky and Creel replied at the same time.
Kakashi's voice was calm but firm. "Good. You have the go to wreak havoc. Just keep it to the warehouse."
