"Oh, what a terrible mistake from Aston Villa."
"Mistake for Villa but God's blessing to Liverpool!"
Allen couldn't help but crash down on his knees as he watched the group of players in a white kit storm off to the side, some of them screaming at the top of their voices.
It had been a fierce battle between both teams. One fighting to avoid the league from slipping off their hands and falling into that of Manchester City and the other fighting to retain a place in the top four.
Both teams attacked furiously and defended with their lives causing the match to drag on to injury time with a scoreline of three goals to three.
The referee added five minutes of extra time to the game and it was at the very fifth minute of added time that disaster struck Aston Villa.
A quick corner kick from Liverpool rattled the home team, causing a frantic Allen to kick the ball into his own net in a desperate attempt to clear it.
Neither the Villa fans nor players could hide the disappointment on their faces, and Allen could feel the weight crushing down on him.
"That's just terrible from Allen Norton. Aston Villa just had to hold on for a few more seconds." The commentator said.
"You could also say that it was Liverpool's relentless fighting finally bearing fruit in the end."
Allen was still kneeling on the ground when a teammate walked up to him and slowly helped him up.
"Don't beat yourself up, you're not the first one to score an own goal." He smiled at him before moving further ahead toward the kick off spot.
Aston Villa tried to pull a fast one with the few seconds they still had. It was a desperate attempt to break through Liverpool with a long ball over the top straight from the kick off spot.
Unfortunately, the pass was intercepted by the away side and the moment that happened, the referee brought up his whistle to officially bring the match to an end.
"There's the final whistle and that's that."
At the stands, a few Aston Villa fans could be seen storming off but there were still those who stayed behind to applaud their players alongside the Liverpool fans.
At the very least, they gave it their all; there weren't that many teams in the league capable of holding Liverpool down like this.
"Aston Villa losing this match sees Chelsea move three points ahead of them with just one league game left for the season to end."
Allen walked down the tunnel with his teammates looking more despondent than anyone.
When they got to the locker room, he slowly made his way to his seat and sat down quietly.
His teammates were not blaming him and maybe that had something to do with the fact that he was just a newly promoted player and also the youngest player in the team.
Moreover, he was playing out of position in the match and did a decent job for most of the match.
However, he wished that they would blame and scold him a little; maybe that way, he would feel just a little better.
After sitting there listening to his teammates chatting, he got up on his feet and left.
The moment he walked outside, he heard the soft rumbling of thunder in the sky.
In no time, tiny droplets of rain began to drop from the sky.
Before long, the tiny droplets grew to bigger ones that were dropping at a rapid pace now.
The weather forecast had said that there would be heavy rain later that day, it looked like it was finally time.
As Allen walked through the rain, his body now suddenly drenched he couldn't help but chuckle.
"Well, that's just great."
He had seen his teammates talking about the chance to play Champions League football, but because of him, that dream had been utterly ruined.
Obviously, he didn't mean it but he couldn't help but blame himself.
After walking for a while, the youngster suddenly stopped to look up. He just stood there allowing the rain to completely soak him.
Biting his lower lip, he let out a sigh.
"It would be really nice to get struck by lightning right now."
That was just a sarcastic remark. Unfortunately, the heavens took it seriously.
Before the youngster could figure out what was going on, a bolt of lightning descended on him from above.
For a moment, he felt a shock, and then his body suddenly went numb. Afterwards, his vision slowly began to fade.
[ Hello Allen ]
It was strange but that was the last thing Allen saw before crashing down to the ground.
________ _______
"Owww." Allen groaned a few seconds before slowly opening his eyes.
He found himself lying on the bed and after looking around, he discovered that he was in a hospital room.
"Huh?" He mumbled before slowly sitting up on the bed.
Right at that moment, everything that happened moments before he passed out suddenly came rushing back to him.
Thinking about how he had actually gotten struck by lightning, he couldn't help but smile despondently.
"I guess this must be retribution."
'I wonder if everyone who scores an own goal would get struck by lightning later. If not then this would be unfair.' The youngster thought.
It was still just him in the room so he proceeded to check his body to see if he had sustained any substantial injury.
Luckily, there was none, and he couldn't help but sigh in relief.
He was about to relax back on the bed when he suddenly remembered something.
"Yeah. What was that?" He pondered with his hand on his chin.
[ Hello Allen ]
Allen almost found himself jumping back in shock after seeing that message pop up in front of him.
Yes, that was exactly what he saw before he passed out. But what exactly was that?
Was he dreaming?
He pinched his cheek to confirm that he wasn't dreaming.
'What the hell is going on? This is like something that only happens in video games.'

Looking at all that, Allen couldn't help but chuckle a little.
'Those are my suitable positions, yet I've played more as a left-back since joining the first team.'
His gaze shifted further down and soon he found his mouth agape.
'I knew I was fast but I never knew my pace would be rated that high. It makes my other stats look like trash.'
Right at that moment, the door opened to reveal a young lady standing there with a white jug in her hand.
Her lips grew wide in a bright smile the moment she saw Allen lying on the bed wide awake.
"Allen!"
She charged straight toward him, remembering at the last moment to put the jug down before wrapping her arms around him.
"I'm glad you're okay."
Allen, on the other hand, had an awkward smile on his face as he felt his body getting squeezed tighter every second.
"Great, it's the constrictor."
