Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Sunny

Th: That's a beautiful name, Sunny. Very poetic.

S: My mom had a poetic side.

With that, Thenebria stood up with Sunny and faced Auro.

E: With that out of the way, Auro, what do you mean he is good at stealing?

S: Oh, he is probably talking about how I stole his sword.

A: Shut up, brat.

Those were the last words he uttered since the next thing he knew, he was flying and crashing into a tree a dozen or so meters behind him

Eurys burst out laughing and patted Sunny on his shoulder.

Eurys was like a mix of or pretty much Kai, but 20 years older and with a different personality. His green eyes weren't friendly, but weren't exactly angry either. He wore dark green, very stealthy clothes.

E: I guess you should be the one teaching me how to be sneaky, my friend. I was never able to do that.

My oh my. Still, what do you want? Also, I heard Auro saying something about you wanting to kill the Gods. What's that about?

Sunny looked at him coldly and said.

S: Being bound is not fun, and hating others just because they are from a different God makes no sense. Let them fight, why should we suffer?

Eurys laughed and looked up at others.

E: My oh my. I don't think I would be able to say it better.

Eurys leaned on his grabbed his shoulder and started pointing around him.

E: See, there in the trees? There is Aulin, she might seem cold, but she is a really good archer, not to mention her body.

An arrow flew directly at his head at incredible speed from somewhere in the forest. Eurys casually dodged the attack.

E: Love you too.

Au: tsk

E: Next is Aletheia over….oh, she is behind me, isn't she?

Al: Why are you telling him all this?

Eurys tilted his head and said casually.

We can't take him with us, but Auro's idea of training him is not bad, you know, wouldn't it be weird if he were to call us hey you, names are a special thing, you know. No of course you know. You know better than most.

Al: Fair enough.

Al: Fine, then there is Ceadros' great guardian using a shield.

He was a tall man with very broad shoulders anda shield on his back, as sunny as no more like Sunny times 2. He had short brown hair and closed eyes, so he didn't see their colour

Al: Next, it's Luno. He is our oracle.

Luno was a strange person with blue robes, short black hair and hands behind his back, with his eyes also closed. He didn't look muscular, but his clothing was covering most of his bare skin, so it was hard to tell

Al: Next, it is Ellara, which is our spear.

Ellara was standing beside one of the trees, and what surprised Sunny the most was her height; she was the polar opposite of tall and robust Effie. She was as tall as he, maybe a little shorter. She was slim with a very athletic build and strong muscles. He had long, brown hair tied in a braid. Her great spear was impressively tall as well. Almost twice her size.

Al: After that, there is Rena, an excellent healer.

Rena was a beautiful woman in a green robe and light brown hair, smiling politely with striking blue eyes.

Al: You already met Thene, so I won't be introducing her, as for what she is good at, well, she is… I will let her explain it to you when the time comes.

From that point onward, Sunny was trained and taught by others. Although at first most thought it would be a waste to teach anything to him since he seemed to be way too weak, and there was almost no time to spare for them to reach their goal. They were very happy that they were wrong.

In a couple of months, he started to get better with the sword, well, at least that's what Auro said.

Auro was a nice but also nasty person, but was even nastier with the sword. Sunny had a very hard time comprehending how he was even moving, not to mention using his sword as well.

During the day, he was taught by Auro and Ellara and by nightfall, he was feeling like dying would be a better option in the first couple of days.

However, if Sunny knew something. It was not give up, and so he prevailed. He didn't know why the spell didn't end his nightmare, but thought it could be because slaying the Mountain King was not his objective, maybe it was the temple? Those questions stayed in past for him.

Ellara was crazy with her spear, and her style was beyond that. At first, Sunny was surprised she was the shortest from their group wielding a spear almost twice her size, but for some reason it felt as if spear and her was one being. He didn't even know some of the moves she performed were even possible, let alone describe them. Nonetheless, his perception due to Shadow dance, although still very weak, helped him drastically in slightly understanding some of it.

Sunny didn't go to school, but his memory was excellent, and since he didn't bother with what and why, he could understand and accept their knowledge in vast amounts at an incredible rate.

After 3 months of their training, Sunny decided to head into the forest in the middle of the night despite his sorry state. In the forest, he started to perform his own Shadow dance, and that's where Thene found him.

Th: Oh my. She chuckled sweetly.

Sunny turned, but she was already hugging his back.

Th: Your movements are stiff; it actually looks funny.

S: And here I thought I was doing good.

Thene laughed and patted his head.

Th: want me to teach you?

S: Yes.

Sunny's mood was instantly improved. This was the first time he heard someone recognise shadow dance. He would have to be an idiot to refuse such offer

Th: Then watch closely.

Sunny tried watching her dance but was mesmerised pretty much instantly. She started to dance and could not focus on her moves at all.

S: focus, focus.

Sunny tried, he really di,d but it was as if he was denied focusing on her moves to perceive them, learn them.

S: What is happening?

Thene stopped and walked towards him, only for him to lose focus despite her being right in front of him, only for her to suddenly appear right in front of his face.

Th: You are certainly something, Sunny. If I could have a child, I wish it would be you.

Sunny blushed and looked away from her.

Her smile was sweet and touch gentle.

S: I couldn't focus on anything. How can I learn it?

Th: That is the true essence of this dance.

S: What?

Th: here. Do you see any weapons on me?

S: No, well, I'd assume you have some, but you don't see it necessary to use them.

Th: That's a fair reaction. Still, I mostly fight like this.

S: What?

Th: Weapons hold me back, you know. Not to mention, from now on, I will teach you how to do exactly what I do. It will be up to you if you want to fuse our teachings together, but I believe this step is the most important of them all. After all, you are about to fuse your mind

She touched his forehead

Th: as well as your soul.

She moved her finger to his heart.

Sunny's eyes sparkled while he looked at Thene. To be honest, he felt at peace near her.

As the time went by, months passed in the blink of an eye, and during of of his spars with Auro, who was using a wooden sword, giving an iron one to Sunny, something strange happened.

Auro was wearing a neutral expression while studying Sunny's moves until he couldn't because Sunny was gone.

A: What?
