Kaito was sitting on the sofa, simply waiting for time to pass and for Lala to finish.
Sitting next to Kaito was Mila, clinging to his arm, looking fearfully to the side, where a large block of ice contained a girl holding a knife.
Suddenly.
Crk… crk… shrrrkk… CRAAACK!
Cracks appeared first, slowly spreading across the entire cube, and finally the ice shattered from the inside as Mita burst out of it.
"Ah! Kaito, she broke free again"
FWOOOOSH!
Repeating the spell, Mita was frozen in place once more.
It took Mita three minutes to break Kaito's freezing spell and free herself.
However, this was not due to strength. During that time, Kaito did not just waste time, he also asked Lala.
According to her, inside the game everyone had been digitized, so all of Kaito's spells and abilities were also digital. In short, they were data, and the Crazy Mita somehow had the ability to corrupt data.
That allowed her to move between versions, take over the bodies of other Mitas, kill Mitas, among other things.
The only thing she could not kill was Kaito's team that had entered this game. The reason? By modifying the data, Lala made them immortal.
To be precise, she made herself immortal so Mita could not kill her while she handled everything, and since it was copy and paste code, like in most programming, she did the same for the rest.
After four more escapes by the Crazy Mita, Lala finished.
"Kaito, something strange is happening"
Kaito did not need anyone to warn him, as he was the first to notice that the Crazy Mita's body was suddenly glowing with golden light.
The ice covering her cracked into extremely small pieces that turned into snow as they fell to the ground.
Three golden chains with a holy aura emerged from the walls, as if passing straight through them, even though there should have been nothing on the other side, and headed toward the Crazy Mita.
"Arghhhh!"
They bound her two legs together and stretched out her arms, forming a pose similar to a crucifixion. The sacred light of the chains spread across Mita's body like cracks as she screamed in pain.
Soon her entire body turned black before becoming ashes that vanished into the air along with the snow created by the previous ice.
The contrast between black and white created a somewhat dramatic scene as everything disappeared through one of the windows that suddenly opened.
"Was she a demon?" Mila murmured beside him.
Kaito did not blame her. If he had seen this without knowing anything, he would have thought the same due to the way she died.
[Lucifer: The window gave you away, those things can't be opened]
[Deviluke Princess: But it looked cool!]
After confirming that Mita had simply been deleted from the code and had not been exorcised or anything like that, Kaito turned his attention to the mission completion notification that appeared at the same time.
Since the mission was to help as many versions as possible, getting rid of the Mita who was killing them already granted the entire team an SS. On top of that, Lala fixed all the ones that had errors, so the final grade was the expected SSS.
Although she said she fixed all those with errors, Kaito asked Lala to be extremely careful about what she considered an error. Kaito wanted her to fix things like the Loli Mita whose body was half malformed, or others that were damaged, but he did not want to remove their individuality.
From a strict point of view, the differences of Mila, the funny Mita, the main thinking Mita, all of that could be considered errors, but Kaito did not want Lala to correct them. And considering that the system still gave them a perfect grade, it seemed the world itself did not consider them errors either.
But to be fair, this world had been artificially created by people, so it was obvious that its creators would not consider that to be errors.
"Hey"
Kaito was about to leave when Mila called out to him again.
"I like you"
Kaito was taken aback for a second by the sudden confession, not fully understanding the reason.
But he quickly remembered. He had told Mila about Lords to kill time, and among those things he talked about character summoning cards, so her goal was quite obvious.
Mila looked at him with anticipation and fear as Kaito remained silent.
"Falling in love with someone in a single day is crazy," Kaito joked with a smile.
Mila smiled as well as Kaito disappeared from the place, leaving his answer hanging in the air.
"Of course, I'm different from the rest after all"
---
Kaito was back on his now very familiar throne.
The others arrived a bit later. Even though everyone tried to hold back, Kaito could see that they were excited.
He understood, it was their first SSS rank reward.
After everyone briefly explained their experiences, since there had only been one real enemy and it had been busy the entire time with Lala and Kaito, and after they mentioned their rewards, everyone went their separate ways.
Some went to sleep, others left Gaia, and those most obsessed with their work went to train or to a laboratory.
Normally Kaito would have talked more with them before dismissing them and then gone to his room to rest, but this time he was focused on something else.
He opened the system notifications and found something strange.
[Congratulations, you have completed the mission of floor 5: Virtual World]
[The mission completion rate exceeds 100%, your grade is SSS]
[Rewards: ???]
"Where is my reward?"
[I withheld it]
The system's response surprised Kaito before he could figure it out himself.
[As you know, all rewards are made of fragments of divinity, even synchronization points. That's why I have a proposal]
"Explain yourself"
[As you know, you are in debt, so you would not receive synchronization points in the normal way anyway. I propose gathering all fragments of divinity and synchronization points to give you a single reward, but of a higher level]
"Can you even do that?"
[By exploiting certain legal loopholes it is possible, however only this once]
"Then do it," Kaito replied, having nothing to lose.
[Confirmed… repeating process]
[Congratulations, you have completed the mission of floor 5: Virtual World]
[The mission completion rate exceeds 100%, your grade is SSS]
[Reward: NexoPort Mobile]
Kaito took the item out of his inventory. At first glance it looked like a small portable console, rectangular in shape and only slightly larger than a cellphone.
However, it had no visible controls, only a small button on the right that opened a touch menu, at least according to the description.
The item was quite slim and the frame completely black, giving it a technological feel. However, Kaito knew that something like this could not have been created with technology alone, since its function was to connect worlds.
One advantage of the console was that it had no difficulty limit, so Kaito would not connect to an almost normal world where he could not gain anything, unless he was very unlucky.
But it also had disadvantages. The main one was that, even if the world appeared as a video game, he could not directly control a character. He needed to guide someone, as if he were some kind of guide communicating with them.
The second problem was that, if these worlds were video games, then the genre was random. Before connecting to each world, everything was decided at random. Not only the story, but also whether he could speak normally with the character, who that character would be, what the objective was, and what methods he could use to make them stronger.
When Kaito asked the system why it was like that, it explained that it did not create the reward, but that it was created by the same ones who created the worlds. And just as the goal of the worlds was entertainment, this console was used for challenges, so it was more fun that way.
Following the principle that a picture is worth a thousand words, Kaito decided to try it to better understand how it worked.
Without any delay, the console started up, showing the same logo as the Tower of Worlds tab.
Then a small roulette appeared with the text "choose the world".
Kaito spun it and, after about five seconds, it stopped on the image of a kunai, which enlarged until it filled the entire screen. Below it appeared the text "Ninja World".
Kaito thought that unless they were playing a joke on him, that world was obviously Naruto's.[1]
The kunai disappeared and another roulette appeared with the text "number of characters".
The roulette landed on 2.
This time two more roulettes appeared. Both had their results hidden, and the only thing indicating how good each one was was the size of the option.
The left roulette landed on a small sized option, but not the smallest, probably third tier.
The second landed on one of the five smallest, so small it was barely a line.
Kaito felt extremely lucky, but immediately a notification appeared on the console.
[Warning!]
[Both characters are related and exist in different time periods. Manipulating the first character will, with a 95% certainty, lead to the erasure of the second character's existence.
You have two options:
- Keep the second character. With the risk that if they are erased from the timeline you will only be able to manipulate one character throughout this world.
- Reroll the second character]

80 power stones = 1 extra chapter (cumulative)
[1] I really like Naruto and I wanted its world to last longer. However, given my plans for that world, making it a series-type world would not really work. So instead of doing around 40–50 consecutive Naruto chapters, I preferred to make it basically a world running in parallel, thanks to this console. Even so, when the Naruto world appears, there will be several consecutive chapters, but it will be four or five before moving on to another plot, and after a while we will return to Naruto. I hope this is clear.
