Chapter 29 - The witches scheme

The atmosphere in the witches' coven was thick with tension. Sabrina, the Queen of the Witches, sat at the head of the grand hall, her fingers lightly tapping on the armrest of her throne. Her icy blue eyes glinted with barely contained fury, while her ever-present, calculating smile never wavered.

She wasn't alone. A circle of her most trusted and powerful witches surrounded her, their expressions grim as they waited for her orders. The witches were restless, their magic thrumming through the air, barely restrained by the heavy wards Sabrina had placed around the room.

"I want answers," Sabrina's voice was cold, commanding. "How did this happen? How did she become Luna of the Blue Moon Pack?"

One of her top advisors, a tall woman with raven-black hair, stepped forward hesitantly. "It's clear that Callista has bonded with Lucien. The moon goddess is involved, and she's stronger than we anticipated. The mate bond—it's growing beyond our control."

Sabrina's lips curled in a tight smile, though her eyes were stormy. "I know that, Elira. But the real question is—how do we use this to our advantage?"

Elira, the advisor, lowered her head. "The werewolves have begun to view her as their Luna. Her power is growing by the day, and she's beginning to train with Lucien. We should act quickly before she becomes a threat."

Sabrina's expression darkened as her gaze shifted to another witch, a young woman named Talia, who had remained silent up to this point. "And what about you, Talia? What news from the other factions? Have we secured the alliances we need?"

Talia straightened, her eyes flickering with uncertainty. "We've made progress with a few smaller packs. But there's still resistance from the larger ones. They're hesitant to ally with us, especially with Callista's growing power. They fear the bond she shares with Lucien. They fear him."

Sabrina let out a low, throaty chuckle. "Fear. It's always fear. Let them fear. Fear makes them easier to control."

She stood up, pacing slowly in front of her coven. Her eyes narrowed, the fire of ambition burning in her gaze. "We'll give them something to fear. We'll make sure they know that if they ally with the werewolves, they'll face our wrath. And Callista will be the key to breaking their unity."

Elira frowned. "But... if she continues to grow stronger, she might become a formidable weapon for the werewolves. She might even become too powerful for us to control."

Sabrina stopped in her tracks and turned to face Elira. Her voice was icy. "That's where you're wrong. Callista will do exactly as I say. She has no choice. The mate bond is powerful, yes, but it also makes her vulnerable. We'll exploit that. We'll break her will and force her to serve us."

Talia's voice was filled with concern as she spoke up. "And how do you plan to break her, Sabrina? She's already trained with Lucien. She's already becoming a leader in the pack."

Sabrina's smile returned, sharp and predatory. "Oh, it's simple. We don't break her physically. No, we break her emotionally, mentally. The bond she shares with Lucien will be her greatest weakness. We'll make her doubt everything she knows. She'll question her loyalty, question everything she's ever believed. And when the time comes, she'll be ours."

Sabrina's eyes flickered with dark intent. "We'll plant seeds of doubt in her heart. We'll show her the true darkness of the werewolves. And when she's on the brink of turning against them, we'll strike."

Elira and Talia exchanged uneasy glances. They knew Sabrina well enough to understand that her plans were never simple, and they always had unforeseen consequences. But in this case, there was something else—a dangerous, almost reckless determination in Sabrina's eyes that neither could ignore.

"If she does turn against Lucien and the pack," Elira said slowly, "what happens next?"

Sabrina's smile widened, cruel and calculating. "Then we take what's ours."

She paused, letting the silence hang in the air, before she added with an eerie calmness, "And we ensure that no one—not Lucien, not the witches—will ever be able to stand in our way again."
