Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The Livestream Begins

Soon enough, night fell, and the clock struck 7:30 PM.

Ron had finished prepping for the livestream, choosing a simple room in Hancock's palace as his broadcast location.

While the room was plain, it was quiet and well-lit, perfect for a smooth stream.

He double-checked the phone he'd be using, confirmed everything was in working order, took a deep breath, and hit "Start Live."

The moment the stream went live, users flooded in like a tidal wave.

Pirates, Marines, nobles from various kingdoms, even royalty—people from all walks of life poured in, and the stream instantly exploded with activity.

Most of them joined out of curiosity. After all, this thing called a "livestream" was completely new to them.

As soon as they entered the room, the bullet comments began flooding the screen.

> "This is so new! I didn't know TikTok could livestream."

> "What's a livestream? And why's this guy wearing a mask? Is he just super ugly?"

> "Tashigi, don't judge people by their looks. You're lowering the dignity of the Marines."

> "Ah! Vice Admiral Smoker, apologies! Tashigi understands her mistake!"

> "Hahaha! Even the mighty Vice Admiral Smoker is on TikTok watching livestreams? Don't tell me he only follows the hot girls?"

> "You fools! What kind of class are you in to be in the same stream room as me, King Wapol?!"

> "King Wapol? Never heard of you. Drop your location. I just want to send you some local specialties."

The chat was absolute chaos, voices clashing everywhere.

When Wapol saw the user list, he nearly fainted.

Chinjao of the Happo Navy, bounty: 542 million Berries!

Onigumo, Vice Admiral of Marine Headquarters...

Every name on the screen made Wapol tremble.

His legs started shaking as regret flooded in. Why did I run my mouth just now?

He tried several times to delete his message... but found he couldn't.

All he could do was sit silently and thank God he hadn't accidentally leaked his address.

Just as the chat room was still buzzing and trying to locate Wapol, Ron finally spoke.

By now, the livestream had passed 100,000 viewers.

"Hello, TikTok users! I'm the developer of TikTok and your host for tonight's livestream."

Ron's voice was calm and steady, instantly grabbing everyone's attention.

"The main purpose of today's livestream is to teach everyone how to make high-quality videos.

I've been watching a lot of uploads recently, and I've noticed that most of them are... terrible. Zero technique.

So I started this stream to answer your questions—and more importantly, to introduce TikTok's new feature: the Shopping Cart."

> "Shopping Cart???"

The chat room exploded in unison. Everyone was asking the same thing: What's a Shopping Cart? What does it do?

Ron didn't waste time.

"I know everyone's confused. Don't worry, let me explain.

The Shopping Cart is a platform feature for selling goods.

Anyone can take a photo of what they want to sell, list it in their cart, set a price, and trade directly with other users.

Of course, the platform takes a small cut from each order.

If someone sells fake goods, you can file a complaint. The system will handle it fairly—no bias, no favoritism, regardless of your status or rank."

Once Ron finished explaining, the chat went completely silent.

Everyone was trying to process this game-changing concept, selling stuff in an app? On a pirate-infested sea?

Two minutes passed.

Ron continued, "Now, I'm going to pick a few lucky users for video Q&A. You can ask anything—shooting tips, editing issues—anything at all. I'll walk you through it."

He activated the video call feature. Immediately, requests flooded in, and the stream turned chaotic again.

Ron randomly selected one user. When he saw the username, he paused for a moment, he recognized this one.

Soon after, the video connected, and Nojiko's figure appeared on-screen.

Her short blue hair with a red ribbon, paired with a simple tank top and shorts, made her look fresh, sharp, and effortlessly stylish.

"Welcome, Miss Nojiko, our first lucky guest of the night," Ron said with a smile. "Do you have any questions or issues you'd like to ask about?"

Meanwhile, aboard the Going Merry, Nami saw her sister on the livestream and jumped up in excitement.

"That's my sister! That's Nojiko! I can't believe she got picked—what luck!"

Sanji let out an emotional howl, "Nami's sister is just as beautiful as Nami-san! A pair of absolute goddesses!"

Zoro scoffed, muttering under his breath, "Perverted cook."

"What did you say, moss-head?!" Sanji snapped, whirling around, eyes blazing.

"Huh? What? I didn't say anything, perv-cook." Zoro put on an innocent face, clearly poking the bear.

"Damn it! You're begging for a fight!"

Sanji rolled up his sleeves, ready to throw hands.

"SHUT UP! I can't hear anything!" Nami roared, cutting them both down with a single shout.

Their fire instantly fizzled. Silence returned.

The rest of the Straw Hats quieted down, focusing on the stream.

Surprisingly, even Luffy wasn't causing trouble. He just sat to the side, eyes glued to the screen, clearly drawn in by the livestream.

...

Back at the other end of the stream, Nojiko sat nervously at her table. She hadn't expected to be chosen and now found herself stammering.

"Ah… I… I, I…"

"Miss Nojiko, no need to be nervous. Just think of it as chatting with a friend," Ron said warmly. "Ask whatever you want. I'll do my best to help."

Meanwhile, the comments section was lighting up with support.

> "Beautiful lady, don't be nervous! We're all friendly!"

> "Let's go, Miss Nojiko! We're cheering for you!"

> "No pressure, everyone here's a friend!"

(To be continued.)
