Chapter 6 - Shdows of War

"If Lord White Fang were still around, they wouldn't dare be so arrogant," Ikeya Isamu said indignantly.

"It's fine. We still have the Third Hokage and Lord Orochimaru. We'll definitely win just like before." Kimura Sugihito tried to liven up the mood.

"If a war breaks out, will our teacher also be sent to the front lines?" Auron asked the question that concerned him most.

He really didn't want to leave the ninja academy. Sure, he could train and become strong on his own, but it was nothing compared to the thrill of getting power through the system.

"It depends on how intense the war is. If things get really bad, some teachers may be assigned to units based on their specialties," Ueda Aya replied.

Upon hearing her response, Auron could only silently pray to the gods and ancestors above that he wouldn't be selected—or at least not too soon.

In the Third Great Ninja War, Konoha basically fought all the other great ninja villages. It was insanely brutal. There's no way they'd let the power of the academy instructors go to waste.

Auron wasn't afraid of the battlefield itself—what he feared was getting thrown into it before he even had time to grow.

This war really was shaping up to be deadly. The five great villages were going all-out, and in the shadows, Uchiha Madara and Black Zetsu were scheming.

"Sensei, you don't have to worry. We're the number one ninja village—there's no way it'll get so bad that even our teachers are sent to the front lines," Kimura said confidently.

"I'm not really worried about being sent out. Just asking, so I can be prepared when the time comes." Auron smiled.

Even if he didn't want to go, there was no way he'd say that out loud.

Auron stopped talking and began practicing calligraphy. Only when the school bell rang did he make his way toward Class 1-A.

He paused at the doorway and looked inside. The dark cloud of war hadn't dampened the children's joy; the classroom was full of cheerful energy.

"Bro, how did that genius plan of mine work out? Did you get your cousin under control?" After two days, Kamizuki Izumo was eager to hear Kotetsu's results.

"Sigh, don't get me started. Your plan was great, but my cousin's way too crafty. After I followed your strategy, he actually pulled the exact same move on me!" Kotetsu said, clearly frustrated.

At first, things went well. His cousin got a scolding from their aunt. But before he could take the next step, his cousin turned the tables and used the same trick on him. They were both still kids—his cousin was only a year older.

The end result? A back-and-forth of scoldings and punishments until they both agreed to a ceasefire and labeled that nasty plan a "forbidden technique."

"To think there'd be someone so devious..." Izumo muttered, impressed.

"Your cousin's really cunning. I can't think of another plan right now." Izumo looked apologetic.

"No worries, bro. You've already helped me a ton. Let me return the favor—tell me what's bothering you." Kotetsu offered.

"There's this girl who lives next door. I like her a lot, but I don't know how to get closer to her." Izumo hesitated, then confessed.

"That's easy—just give her something she likes." Kotetsu suggested.

Izumo thought about it and nodded. "She always looks at my family's flower garden when she walks by. I think she likes flowers. Her family doesn't seem to grow any."

"Then give her flowers! She'll definitely appreciate it," Kotetsu said with certainty.

"Ahem. Class is starting," Auron cleared his throat and reminded everyone.

The once-lively classroom went quiet in an instant, leaving only Auron's voice as he began teaching.

Even though they'd only been together for four days, everyone already liked Auron. His lectures were relaxed, fun, and engaging. The students naturally listened.

[Evaluation: A]

[Reward Obtained: Water Style – Water Formation Wall]

As the name of the jutsu appeared, information about the Water Formation Wall surged through Auron's mind.

It was a B-rank Water Style ninjutsu that created a wall of water to block attacks.

Notably, Tobirama Senju's version of this jutsu was different. He could generate a perfect 360-degree water barrier that left no blind spots.

As he processed the new knowledge in his mind, Auron realized he'd also gained insight into the nature transformation of water chakra—something he hadn't mastered before.

It made sense. Without understanding chakra nature transformation, he couldn't use Water Style at all.

Auron silently gave a thumbs-up to the system for its thoughtfulness.

After school, Auron brought Shisui to the training spot he'd scouted—a small river in the southern forest.

"Your Fireball Jutsu is coming along nicely. Today, I'll teach you a new Fire Style ninjutsu," Auron said, outlining the training plan.

With that, he clapped his hands together and opened his mouth wide—three massive fire dragons erupted forth. Under Auron's control, the dragons twisted through the air before plunging into the water, sending huge clouds of steam billowing into the sky.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu," Shisui immediately recognized the technique. He'd seen Uchiha jōnin use it before.

That was what shocked him even more. Auron had unleashed three fire dragons in one breath—and with only a single hand sign.

Shisui became even more curious about Auron's strength.

"Watch closely. I'll show you again." Auron noticed Shisui's reaction and knew he'd gotten the effect he wanted.

He was clearly showing off—but for a good cause.

As Auron demonstrated the jutsu, he also explained the key techniques, especially how to compress a large amount of chakra into the shape of a dragon. His recent acquisition of chakra shape transformation mastery allowed him to give detailed guidance.

"I see… I think I understand a little," Shisui nodded, preparing to try it himself.

He quickly formed hand seals, surged his chakra, and shaped it into form.

"Fire Style: Dragon Flame Jutsu!"

A single one-meter-long fire dragon burst from his mouth and spiraled into the sky before plunging into the river.

Clap clap.

Auron smiled and applauded. "I thought you'd need a few tries to get it right. Looks like I underestimated your talent."

He was genuinely surprised. Without using a Sharingan to copy it, Shisui had learned a B-rank jutsu almost instantly. That's the power of double-S rank talent.

"It's because you're a good teacher, Auron-sensei," Shisui said humbly.

He didn't deny that he learned fast, but he truly thought Auron's teaching was top-tier.

Auron hadn't held back. After his first show-off moment using one hand seal, all his other demonstrations were slow and complete, paired with detailed explanations.

"And I haven't really mastered it yet—just barely pulled it off," Shisui said. Compared to Auron's version with three massive fire dragons, he knew he still had a long way to go.

"Then I'll demonstrate the perfected version a few more times for you," Auron grinned.

He appreciated Shisui's humility and dedication. Watching his chakra points rise on the system panel confirmed that Shisui was working hard even after class.

When you're focused, time flies. Shisui was so absorbed in the training that he didn't realize it was almost dark until he noticed how bright the flames had become.

"Sensei, I'll head home now," Shisui said.

"I've compiled some of my experience on chakra shape transformation. Take this booklet and study it when you can," Auron said, handing him a small manual.

Shisui paused, then accepted it and bowed in gratitude.

He didn't say anything flowery, but in his heart, his respect for Auron deepened.

Even though they'd only been teacher and student for four days, Auron had never held anything back. The more valuable the knowledge, the faster he passed it on—never stingy, never secretive.

Watching Shisui's back as he walked away, Auron smiled.

No wonder this kid was his strongest "gold mine"—another jackpot.

[You gifted your disciple the Chakra Shape Transformation Manual. The disciple was deeply moved. Bonus reward: Wind Style – Gale Destruction (Proficient level)]

A torrent of knowledge about Wind Style: Gale Destruction flooded into Auron's mind, along with a boost in his wind chakra transformation ability.

Auron was very pleased.

Gale Destruction was one of the strongest Wind Style jutsu, with a wide range and massive destructive power. It could also combine with his Fire Style jutsu for greater effect.

Even better, having wind nature now gave him a foundation to develop a Wind-based Rasengan variant.

Originally, he had planned to create a fire-element Rasengan, but now that wind was available, Rasenshuriken would obviously come first.

After some observation over the past few days, Auron had started to figure out how the system's "disciples reward" mechanism worked.

The rewards depended on two factors: the quality of the gift he gave, and the disciple's gratitude. The second factor was clearly more important.

On the second day, he gave Shisui some snacks and received ten shuriken from the system.

On the third day, he gave Shisui homemade food and got 50 chakra points.

Same category—food—but the third day's reward was much better. Clearly, the more personal and heartfelt the gift, the more Shisui appreciated it.

Now that he understood the system, Auron started plotting a big hit. Tomorrow, he'd check Shisui's student records and find out when his birthday was.

Day 5 in the Naruto World

Auron only had one class today, but a third-year teacher needed a substitute, and Auron happily stepped in. It was a great chance to help out and gain rewards.

Two classes. One netted him 20 chakra points, the other gave him the Fireball Jutsu.

It was the first time he'd gotten a jutsu he already knew, but to his surprise, the system simply added experience to his proficiency.

If this were a game, he'd now have "Level 2 Fireball" or something like "Enhanced Fireball."

"Sensei, you're too easygoing," Ueda Aya said worriedly. "If you keep saying yes, other teachers will keep asking you to cover their classes."

Auron thought, That sounds great, actually.

"We're all colleagues. It's no problem. Plus, I really enjoy teaching," Auron said with a gentle smile.

Ueda Aya didn't know how to respond. Judging by Auron's expression, he seemed genuinely sincere.

Is this guy for real? she wondered. He's basically working for free. Do people like this even exist?
