Chapter 3 - Go with the flow

Diana's POV

I wondered how the man still tried to maintain his expression in this situation. Well it might be a prank, oh Diana you watch too many TV shows, I thought.

But does he have time for a prank? I thought and decided to ask.

"Oh Mr Windsor, it's a pleasure to be invited to such a beautiful place, but I don't think you have the time to pull pranks on commoners," I said funnily, but it was so awkward.

"Does my proposal sound so ridiculous to you?" He asked and I shook my head.

Did I just hear a proposal? What?

"You were caught with me and news about us is everywhere, and you are now the world Mrs Windsor, be my bride, and let's make it simple for you," he said.

"And the offer will benefit... Being Mrs Windsor means my money is yours for the stipulated time," he said. So it's a contract marriage, I thought.

"So you want me to get married to you?" I repeated, but the man didn't seem like he would answer, so I dropped it.

I really couldn't do it, even though the offer sounds tempting, I still found the whole thing absurd, especially when he says his money is mine too....that is ridiculous.

"I'm not going to do it, Sir," I started with a serious face, and the man gave me a nonchalant stare. "If I were you I would accept this offer, when it is still a blessing," he said.

That jolted me back to reality, I will never get my normal life back unless the scandal disappears. Now I'm in a situation where I can't choose, and also my brother's tuition fee is almost due! I decided to make some inquiry about the contract.

"The contract... will it be for how long?" I asked awkwardly. "Just two years miss, don't worry the contract will be sent to you," he said.

Two years is not too long, but It's like a lifetime to me!

"Are we going to act like a couple...like a real couple, I mean?" I curiously asked. "I understand you, but don't worry you don't appeal to me at all," he said nonchalantly and I scoffed at his words.

"I need to think about it, Mr Windsor," I said and he nodded.

"Make your thinking quick," he replied. He stood up walking towards the entrance door, then I followed him.

"Where are you going?" He asked.

"My house" I said. "I'm sure you don't want to cause trouble for yourself again tonight," that jolted my senses, right how can I forget?

"I'm staying here with you?" I asked. "No!" He answered irritatedly. "Okay." I replied silently nodding my head.

I watched the man's retreat back, and knew I had nothing to think about.

The man walked out but I tiptoed to listen to what they were saying.

"Should I run a background check on her, boss?" The assistant asked Simon, and I sighed hearing that.

Why? Do I look like a criminal?

"Is she not sent by my grandmother?" Simon asked, looking confused. "She's not," he answered, but Simon shot him a glare.

"Summit a report on her to me later," he said with a dangerous smirk. "Okay, Boss " he replied, they both walked off leaving me to my thoughts.

*************************

The morning sun seeped into the room ahead that I stayed in gently, but I was just looking at the room plainly. I had not slept a wink the other night.

I had been considering the offer, and I weighed the pros and cons. I have nothing to lose except a certificate that I was once married after the deal was over, that was never a problem to me.

He said his money was mine also, so that means I can send my brother abroad to complete his education, I thought.

What more could I ask for? It was the best offer!

I held a car drive in, I knew it was him, the door to the room opened, and when he showed his face, my throat parched and my heart skipped for a while.

Why was the man looking this handsome?

I could not see his face well the other night, but looking at him like this I was dumbstruck.

His face was well sculptured with definite features, his blazing green orb eyes that could melt souls, his brown hair that looked silky, and his taunting height that was suppressing. He was the perfect definition of a Greek god.

"So what's your decision?" He asked, not wasting time, and I sighed after hearing his brief question, that was about to change my life.

"What if I don't agree?" I asked curiously, but he stared intently at me.

"Then this conversation will be unnecessary," he said retreating, I panicked seeing that. "I am in! I will be your bride," I yelled, seeing that my entire life could crumble if he left.

His steps halted, hearing my words, he turned around to look at me.

"Before that, I need something," I said looking at him while he just looked at me plainly.

"I need you to send my brother abroad to finish his education," I stated my demand, with my eyes still fixed on the walls.

"Okay, my assistant will sort it out," he said and my eyes widened in surprise. "What? Really?" I asked and he hummed in reply.

"I appreciate it, Mr Windsor," I was so happy that I almost lost my cool.

"Since you accepted the offer, then I think we would be heading to the marriage office immediately," Simon said and I gasped wondering why the man was in so much rush.

"What? We are getting married today?" I asked, not believing it would be that fast.

"Yes, any objections?," he said nonchalantly and I nodded my head trying my best not to lose my mind.…

"Get dressed, we are going now," he said, leaving the room for me and I sucked in my shaky breath.

I am getting married!
