We headed for the throne room, Dylan and I. Dylan was way ahead of me while I trailed rather reluctantly behind him, while guilt ate me from the inside without pity.
Avira had excused herself from attending the assembly. Dylan had been too angry or too hurt, or both to argue, and I was too distracted to care.
The thought that it was my father who had summoned the assembly, and that he might know what I did caused my heart to race without control.
Dylan maintained his pace ahead of me, and I did not attempt to level up with him. Even though he did not show it, I knew he was angry, and I knew it had everything to do with the fact that Avira and I had sex without him, or without his knowledge.
Knowing the reason for his anger only made me feel more guilty, and more hopeful that my fear would not be confirmed today, or ever.
