Cast of Characters
Amid shadows and sirens, where pain and duty twirl together and hearts learn to trust in shattered glass—these are the characters at the centre of it all:
Priya Thakur:an IPS officer, 24, has eyes sharper than bullets, and a heart bandaged by silence. She loves dogs, cats, and the types of novels where the protagonists survive the apocalypse. She has been the target for others, bullied at school for her boycut and called things that never belonged to her. She grew up swallowing pain with pills and pride and she was justice in khaki, tough but fragile, unknowingly someone's peace.
Zayne: once a Korean mafia prince, is now a ghost in Delhi. Zayne is a man comfortable with death, but will melt at the sight of a street dog and cats , and only hurts those deserving of it. He is a bloody, cold-blooded killer in war, but with Priya, he has warm eyes. Zayne is a soulmate that Priya was not prepared for.
Mrs. Thakur: The mother of Priya, is a school teacher characterized by her traditional suits and limitless patience. She can read her daughter's silence like poetry, and loves her with more ferocity than was supposed to be learned in a book. She believes love can outlast trauma.
Mr. Thakur : An ex-police officer with a voice like a command, and once sighted crime before it happened. He had asked for a son; but he got Priya, and found more courage in her than he had ever seen in a man.
Ajay: Priya co-officer and predator in uniform. Smiles like a hero, thinks like a villain. His obsession with Priya is not love at all, it is control.
Mrs. Kulkarni: her bua. Counts money like blessings and counts Priya as a curse. Lives in their home, not in their hearts. Houseguest; she won't leave until they stop feeding off the last remaining bits of joy.
Masha: the woman from Zayne's past. Once his sugar baby, now so much a part of a past no longer current. But some past won't stay closed; some seep back in bleeding.
