Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: One-Punch Wizard?

Harry's broom was out of control!

From his vantage point in the stands, Sean turned his head and looked towards the professors' section. It was obvious that Snape was muttering, his wand likely performing a counter-curse to help Harry. Meanwhile, Quirrell, seated just behind Snape, was using his loose, voluminous robes to conceal his own actions. An outsider might not notice anything amiss, but Sean knew with absolute certainty that Quirrell, the two-faced monster, was the true culprit behind Harry's out-of-control broom!

Looking at the broom that was shaking more and more violently, and with Hermione and Ron nowhere in sight, Sean thought for a moment, then stood up and left his seat among the Slytherins.

"Blaise, I'm going to go down and take a look," he said quietly.

"Alright," Blaise replied, his eyes still glued to the drama in the air. "Don't be too impulsive. The professors are there; the Savior will be fine."

"I know," Sean said. "I just want to get a closer look."

Sean stood up and quickly left the Slytherin section, walking towards the professors' stands. He had an idea. If he were to attack Quirrell at this very moment, would it trigger a duel on his panel? And if it did, would his opponent be Quirrell, the man Voldemort possessed, or a combination of the two?

With the pure white pocket watch safely in his possession, Sean had the confidence to take a few risks. This was precisely why he had dared to go directly after the troll before. Even if something went horribly wrong, the pocket watch could, to a great extent, serve as his ultimate safety net.

When Sean arrived beneath the professors' stand, he noted that Hermione and Ron were still not there. He didn't know what had gone wrong, but they must have encountered some problem that prevented them from arriving in time to deal with Quirrell themselves.

But now was not the time to dwell on that. Sean quietly positioned himself directly under Quirrell's seat. Looking up, he could just see Quirrell's hand and wand hidden beneath his robe. He was indeed casting a jinx on Harry.

Without hesitation, Sean raised his wand, intending to strike Quirrell. But at that moment, he paused, suddenly realizing who he was truly facing. This was Quirrell, yes, but he was possessed by Voldemort. Quirrell's timid, stuttering persona was a complete fabrication. In reality, he had been a very capable student at Hogwarts and was a skilled wizard in his own right. Even facing Quirrell alone would not be an easy task for Sean, let alone now that he was playing host to the Dark Lord.

Therefore, simple magic would likely have little effect on him. Spells like the Petrification Curse or a Stunning Spell might not even work. Methods that involved summoning magic or applying direct physical force would be more likely to cause effective damage to the two-faced monster.

Wait, physical force…

Thinking of this, Sean looked down at his own fist, then at his right hand holding his wand. He suddenly realized that the most effective physical method he could currently use…

Wasn't it his own fist?

Although the Giant Strength talent was a significantly weakened version of the troll's power, it was still far stronger than his own half-baked magic at this stage.

Thinking of this, Sean tucked his wand behind his back into his belt, shifted his body slightly to brace himself, and then punched upwards with all his might, aiming directly at the seat where Quirrell was sitting.

He punched with his full strength. With a loud bang, the wooden seat under Quirrell's backside instantly shattered. Quirrell's body suffered a heavy, unexpected blow, and he was sent flying by the sheer power of Sean's punch. Wailing in a mixture of pain and surprise, he was thrown from his seat, arcing through the air and falling from the professors' stand toward the competition field below.

This sudden change shocked the surrounding professors.

Snape, in particular, knew very well that it was Quirrell who had been jinxing Harry's broom. He had been desperately using a counter-curse, but it had been slow to take effect. Snape had been on the verge of standing up and confronting Quirrell directly, but then he heard the loud crack. Immediately afterwards, the seat under Quirrell exploded, and Quirrell was sent flying. Naturally, the curse he had been casting on Harry came to an abrupt end.

At this time, Professor McGonagall and the other professors were focused on the falling Quirrell, some even using magic to cushion his fall. Snape's focus, however, was not there at all. He immediately lowered his head and peered down through the splintered hole where Quirrell's chair had been. Vaguely, Snape thought he saw a familiar figure quickly escaping from beneath the professors' stand.

Sean left the professors' stand in a few quick steps.

Since gaining the Giant Strength talent, he had been cautious, constantly afraid of breaking things around him. Fortunately, the abilities granted by his panel seemed to be innate, and he hadn't experienced any accidental situations of using too much force.

But even so, Sean had always been suppressing his power; there was simply no place to use this kind of strength in his daily life. This full-force punch finally showed Sean what level his current strength had reached. He thought that at close range, probably no wizard could take a direct punch from him without using defensive magic.

Sean returned to the Slytherin stand as if nothing had happened. By this time, Quirrell was trembling and crying as he was taken away by other staff for examination. Up in the sky, Harry's broom had returned to normal, and he was once again in control of his Nimbus 2000, continuing his pursuit of the Golden Snitch.

It must be said that Malfoy was really a bit of a loser. Even though Harry had been delayed for so long just now, he still hadn't managed to catch the Golden Snitch. Instead, as soon as Harry was back in the game, he found an opportunity. At the cost of a minor fall from his broom at a low altitude, he managed to snatch the Golden Snitch, directly ending the Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin and securing the win.

In fact, the Nimbus 2000s donated by the Malfoy family to the Slytherin Quidditch team were not without effect. At least before Harry found the Golden Snitch, Slytherin's score was quite a bit higher than Gryffindor's. This was also the point about Quidditch that Sean felt most like complaining about. Except for some extreme situations, no matter how hard the Chasers and Beaters tried, victory could be secured immediately as long as the Seeker caught the Golden Snitch. This kind of sport, he thought, could only have become so popular in the wizarding world, a world that was extremely lacking in other forms of mass entertainment.

At the end of the game, Harry was carried away by the Gryffindors like a returning hero.

The Slytherin team, on the other hand, looked like frost-bitten eggplants, leaving the field with considerable reluctance and resentment.

If they hadn't received the new Nimbus 2000s funded by the Malfoy family, they could have found an excuse, claiming Harry's broomstick was simply too good. Now, with their own top-of-the-line brooms, they really had no reason to complain. If they had to give one reason for their loss, it would be that Malfoy, as their Seeker, was not skilled enough and had failed to suppress Harry, allowing Gryffindor to get the Golden Snitch.

In fact, looking at the eyes and expressions of the other members of the Quidditch team, one could see that quite a few of them held this very idea, but due to the power and prestige of the Malfoy family, no one dared to show it openly.
