Chapter 134 - Chapter 134: Jonin Battle, Run Away Like a Dog

"Let's go." Aburame Neri called to Rock Lee and walked out without looking back. She was already certain that these ninja were no match for Naruto.

"Such large-scale visual control... If he lived in an era of war, he would definitely become a nightmare for all the major ninja villages."

"Shinigami... that codename is surprisingly apt."

"His body... it must be exquisite." She glanced at Naruto, her eyes filled with obsession.

'What's mine will be mine sooner or later. There's no need to rush. I'll accept these gifts he's left behind first.'

Swish. Countless insects poured out from Aburame Neri's body, crawling towards the dead ninja, continuously collecting tissue samples. Neri's gaze towards Naruto became increasingly amicable. Gentle to his own, yet ruthless towards ninja outside Konoha. Directly slaughtering everyone in the tavern. To go to such lengths for a mission... very much in Root's style. It seemed Naruto was integrating into the Root organization at an astonishing speed.

Rock Lee felt somewhat unable to bear it. He sighed and followed Aburame Neri, silently listening to the cold sound of blades slitting throats. Although he had seen blood on previous missions, this was the first time he had experienced such a cruel and unfeeling ninja world. Simply because these people posed a potential threat, they were killed. Was this the "culture" of Root?

Those villagers living comfortable lives surely never imagined that the Konoha everyone saw as prosperous and peace-loving would have such a dark and ruthless department. It wasn't that the times were peaceful and good; it was that someone was carrying the heavy burden. Cruelty would forever be the main theme of the ninja world.

Rock Lee's heart suddenly wavered. Could he really do these things? He looked at Naruto. The latter was as elegant as ever, the longsword in his hand tracing beautiful arcs, continuously reaping lives. Eerily, the conversations in the tavern continued. These ninja were completely unaware of death's steady approach.

'Since I've decided to follow Naruto, I must walk this path firmly,' Rock Lee said to himself internally. He could sense Naruto's grand aspirations, something that definitely surpassed anyone's imagination. Without his help, Naruto would surely face many difficulties.

After Rock Lee and Aburame Neri left, Naruto relaxed and began his slaughter in earnest. Blades flashed, and soon, bloody gashes appeared on all the ninjas' necks. Naruto noticed many insects devouring parts of the ninjas' bodies, carrying away tissue samples like a great army before disappearing from sight.

"Insect Queen is actually interested in body tissue? Could it be she enjoys human research?" Naruto paused for a moment, a surprising feeling of having met a kindred spirit washing over him.

He leisurely sheathed his sword. By now, the tavern was a river of blood. Strictly speaking, the intelligence tavern itself wasn't Naruto's target. But considering the rogue ninja organization was deeply entrenched in this area, they definitely had connections to the tavern. Unexpected trouble might arise during the mission. Therefore, the best option was to kill them all. Such a choice might be cruel and unfeeling, but it aligned with the persona Naruto had established: kindness to others is cruelty to oneself. His warmth was reserved only for "his own people."

Click. Naruto sheathed his sword, his expression calm. The blood at his feet quickly spread throughout the tavern. The stench of blood was everywhere.

Creak. The door opened, and a ninja walked in, the surging chakra within him drawing attention.

"A Jonin?" A smirk touched Naruto's lips. "Looks like things are getting interesting." As expected, this tavern had a Jonin backing it.

"You!" Seeing his hard-earned intelligence tavern utterly destroyed, the Jonin's expression filled with killing intent, his mind consumed by the sole thought of killing Naruto. He was also frantically trying to figure out which power was being so audacious. For a faction to survive for several years, it absolutely needed an extensive network of connections. Though this intelligence tavern was in a remote location, it had cooperated with many factions, obtaining intelligence through exchanges with rogue ninja. It was, in effect, an intelligence transit station. And this very tavern had extremely close ties with Konoha's Root; one could even say the tavern was a small part of Root's powerful intelligence network. Which meant, unknowingly, Naruto had just weakened Root's strength. Of course, Naruto was oblivious to all of this. But even if he had known beforehand, he still would have acted.

Bang! In an instant, both he and the Jonin vanished from each other's sight using the Body Flicker Technique. Two kunai clashed, sending dazzling sparks flying. The force and numbing sensation transmitted through his arm terrified the Jonin. His killing intent instantly diminished by half. 'Where did this monster come from? Could he also be a Jonin? Why would a Jonin appear here?' He was baffled, even frightened. The first thought that entered his mind wasn't to fight, but to flee. Sensing the other's fear, Naruto sneered disdainfully.

Bang! Naruto kicked the Jonin away, used Shunpo to appear behind him, and launched a fierce right punch.

Shhlick! The fear of death caused the Jonin's adrenaline to surge, awakening his combat instincts. He rapidly formed hand seals and escaped using a Water Clone.

"Water Shockwave Technique!" He used the Body Flicker Technique to get behind Naruto, his hand seals complete. He brought one hand to his mouth!

Bang! A violent torrent of water erupted from his mouth, crashing through the tables and chairs in front, sweeping towards Naruto.

"Just an ordinary Jonin," Naruto shook his head. It was no exaggeration to say that Konoha Jonin were a cut above those from smaller villages. This ninja probably couldn't even withstand a few of Guy's punches.

"Such a weak little ant." The Jonin suddenly heard a low murmur in his ear. The next moment, his pupils contracted, the hairs on his body stood on end. Before he could even turn his head, an immense force struck his right side.

Bang! His body shot backward like a cannonball, smashing through the tavern wall. Crack! The ground beneath him shattered. He clutched his side in pain and staggered to his feet, watching in terror as Naruto slowly approached.

"Hado Number 1: Sho." After a dazzling white light, the wall exploded, creating an opening large enough for several people to pass through. Naruto leisurely walked through the hole and stood before the Jonin, his gaze disdainful and arrogant. An terrifying pressure washed over him; the Jonin's hand clutching his kunai even began to tremble.

'Damn it, who the hell is this guy? Why does he have this kind of pressure? I'm going to die, I'm going to die!' He stumbled to his feet, breathing heavily, his chest heaving. A sharp pain shot through his side, and he couldn't help but retreat. In just one exchange, he had been stunned by Naruto's Shunpo speed. He knew he was definitely no match for Naruto.

Seeing the Jonin betray his fear, Naruto said softly, "Showing fear directly in battle... fighting must be very difficult for you, mustn't it?"

"Since that's the case, leave an arm behind and run away like a dog."
