Emiko's screams of pain tore through the night as the thrasher dragged her across the rough ground, its claws still hooked deep in her flesh.
With his clawless hand, it struck her again and again in the back. Anymore and Emiko's spine might snap.
"Let her go." Kiah growled.
Her labrys was still lodged in the degenerate's shoulders, so she yanked out a dagger instead and leapt onto its back, plunging the blade into the top of its head.
The thrasher released Emiko but twisted suddenly, slamming its forehead into Kiah's nose. Her head snapped back from the impact, but it wasn't strong enough to throw her off.
Teeth clenched, she tore the dagger free and aimed for the spinal column.
Sensing the danger, the thrasher grabbed her and tried to rip her off its back. But she held on tight.
