With the sound of the bell, Mr. Dai rushed forward with his wife, Emiko, and Justin to shut down the festivities.
Before Anwyll could move, Kiah grabbed his arm. "A wretch? How are you sure?"
Anwyll's expression was grim.
"Isn't it obvious? The thrashers had a pattern. They were too coordinated. They tried to dig up bodies, something they're not smart enough to do on their own. Those bodies they took? They were feeding them to the wretch. The wretch is the mastermind behind this whole attack, and this party must have lured it in. We have to find and kill it."
The truth made Kiah's heart skip a beat. Fighting a wretch was far behind their capabilities; even Anwyll would struggle against one.
Why did it have to show up here of all places?
"We don't have our weapons," Naya said, her voice trembling.
"Summon them." He answered.
